I have come to realize that being materialist is not a choice as an individual living in the twenty-first

century. Either way, every man living in this era must be materialist. Materialism is a trait that is
inherent in human nature and people tend to be materialistic as a coping mechanism to deal with events
that make them feel troubled and detached from our society, such as belonging to the underclass or
experiencing financial difficulties. We all know that not everyone has life handed to them perfectly.
People who are poverty – stricken are sometimes fueled by materialism, they sometimes envision
themselves having a good life and this makes them motivated to work harder and accomplish their
significant life goals like happiness, success, and desirability. Being materialistic won’t cause us any issues
as long as we know how to put our necessities before our wants and as long as we don’t walk on other
people’s toes in the process. We humans are often referred to as “consumers” because we frequently
purchase items in order to survive but our consumer actions and materialistic mindset helps our society
to have a strong economy that can support all markets in an environmentally friendly way. A
materialism-free society could restrict where and how business is conducted.
