    PURPOSE AND ACTION

    Purpose:
    Extend the City-Wide Youth Curfew for six months to provide a full year of data.
    Why:
    § The curfew is scheduled to sunset on December 1, 2023.
    § The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) has been collecting data on the curfew since it
    began on May 26, 2023.
    § As of November 19, 2023, 42 juveniles have been charged with violating the curfew

    § The curfew provides our officers another tool to address delinquent behavior

    § Violent crime is down 25.3% compared to the same time frame in 2022
