1) The document discusses the importance of understanding the language of mathematics, as it has its own vocabulary and rules for combining terms, just like any other language.
2) It describes how mathematical nouns refer to objects of interest, while sentences express complete thoughts, and how the language of mathematics is precise and unambiguous.
3) It emphasizes that learning the basic terms, symbols, expressions, and functions of mathematical language is essential for understanding more advanced concepts and problems.

Mathematics, like any other foreign language, necessitates effort to
learn and comprehend how the language is used. Mathematics is no exception, as it has its own vocabulary as well as rules for combining words to form sentences. To better understand the language of mathematics, let us first distinguish between mathematical nouns and mathematical sentences. In mathematics, nouns refer to mathematical objects of interest, whereas sentences express complete mathematical thought. The language of mathematics, also known as mathematical language, is an extension of natural language used in mathematics and science to express results (scientific laws, theorems, proofs, logical deductions, and so on) with concision, precision, and unambiguity. This topic engaged English language, as an example for the students to better understand how mathematical language differ and similar to each other. Learning the language of mathematics is essential to better understand and improve one’s mathematical proficiency The second topic or module our instructor sent was all about The Language of Mathematics. In this topic, I felt like it was a rewind of the beginning, the basic. We tackled here the symbols, expressions, and functions that we commonly see or used in a mathematical expression. Furthermore, this also includes some self-assessments to test how far and how broad the knowledge and learning we gain from this topic. It is vital to study first the language of mathematics because how can we understand advance problems that requires advance vocabulary if we skip to review this lesson. Hence, I found this module a very refreshing one, for the reasons that we do sometimes forget the basic part of something, in this case the language of mathematics. Although we must always realize that no matter how far we’ve come or how complex and advance the problems are, is that we must always remember the language of mathematics in order to move to the next one. This lesson is essential as this will serve as the foundation as we tackle many more complex and advance topics in mathematics, and we all know that mathematics is a hard subject if we do not invest our time and efforts understanding the language we use in this subject. Once a statement has been cast into mathematical form, it can be manipulated in accordance with these rules, and every configuration of the symbols will represent facts that are compatible with and dependent on those in the original statement. That is why language of mathematics differs from English language, Filipino language and Japanese language.
