A LITTLE FINGER (SI KELINGKING)

Long, long time ago, there lived an old couple in a land far, far away in Jambi. The old
couple didn’t have child. Everytime they always prayed for baby to the god.
“Dear god, please give us son, although he will as big as pinky,” their wished. The god
listened about their wished. Just in short time, the wife got pregnant and born a little son.
Unfortunately, their baby had a small body condition. It is not quite normal. Since the baby
to adult, his body was only as big as little finger, so he was called ‘Kelingking’. Kelingking
never lacked of self confidence, and his parent love him very much. They didn’t care about
their son’s body condition.
One day, a ghost came to Kelingking’s village. The people Called her Gergasi. Arrival
Gergasi, the Jambi people felt worried and disturbed as like as Kelingking’s family, they
weren’t brave to work in rice field. Heard the situation, the king of Jambi commanded his
society to evacuate. Kelingking heard about that too, and faced the Gergasi to go out from
his village. Of course he made his parent felt worried.
“Don’t worry, mom and dad. I will against the Gergasi bravely!”
“But, your body is too small. The Gergasi will laugh you, won’t she?”
In fact, Gergasi had a strategy with the lack of his body to faced the Gergasi and fight
her into a deep revenge. So, when the Gergasi was in front of his eyes, Kelingking entered
the Gergasi’s ear. Because she didn’t know there was something in her ear, Kelingking
continued to played her eardrum delightly. Sometimes he shouted hard. It made the Gergasi
difficult in concentrated. Finally, Gergasi was lost from Kelingking’s village and died. The
Jambi people felt happy and the king promoted Kelingking as a commander palace.
After few months, Kelingking urged his father to proposed the king’s daughter.
Kelingking’s father was disagreed with Kelingking’s wanted, but finally his father granted
with what Kelingking’s wanted.
The king surprised by kelingking’s wanted. However the king was a wised king. He
asked his daughter if she wanted to be Kelingking’s wife. How surprised the king,
Kelingking’s parent, and Kelingking himself when the princess agreed to married Kelingking.
A week later, the king held their wedding party for 7 days and 7 nights. But after
their marriage, Kelingking oftenly disappeared at night. And whenever Kelingking was
disappeared, a handsome guy with a white horse always came to Kelingking’s wife. She was
suspicious about it, and find out that the guy was her husband, Kelingking. And then, they
lived happily ever after.
