PROFESSIONAL FEE BIDDING

In exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 4(1)(d) of the Registration of Engineers

Act 1967, the Board of Engineers Malaysia (the Board), with the approval of the Minister,
fixes the Scale of Fees to be charged by Professional Engineer with Practising Certificate
(PEPC) and Engineering Consultancy Practice (ECP) for professional engineering and
advice rendered.

2. The Board noted that some developers and clients are practising fee bidding to
engage the services of ECP.

3. The Board would like to remind all PEPC and ECP that offering fees below the
BEM Scale of Fees 1998 is a clear contravention to the Registration of Engineers Act
1967.
