Subject: Solutions for Solar Panels Revolutions Problem
Date: 21/NOV/2023

Tackle problems such as:

• Dust on solar panels
• Expenses
• Direction of panles (for sun rays)
• Maintenance
• Durability

Solutions:
• Qatar has exceptional sunshine and vast unoccupied spaces. (Al shamal for example has the best air direction
and less population.)
• Solar Panels are extremely durable lasting an average of three decades (25-30 years.)
• To protect solar panels from scratches, dust, and dirt is to apply a thin layer of methacrylate on the surface.
Methacrylate is a transparent plastic material that acts as a protective coating for your solar panels.
• Using distilled water isn’t the right solution says a professor in MIT since its costly and unsustainable, instead
use moisture in the air which attaches onto the surface of a dust particle – a process known as adsorption.
Since the thing glass sheets that cover solar panels aren’t conductors, Varanasi’s team added a 5-nanometre
layer of transparent zinc oxide and aluminum to a solar panel’s surface. A metallic plate was then hovered
above the dust-covered panel, and an electric field of around 12 kilovolts was applied between the plate and
the panel. This caused both layers to become electrodes, conductors that make contact with a non-metallic part
of a circuit. The solar panel and dust then became positively charged, while the metallic plate became
negatively charged. As the plate swept above the panel, dust particles started to repel each other, causing them
to disperse.
• Since Qatar is in the northern hemisphere as well as the eastern hemisphere it is best for the solar panels to
face south west to receive the most direct sunlight since the sun is in the southern half of the sky.
• Solar panels typically don't require much maintenance other than periodic cleaning and keeping them free
from obstacles that can cast shadows over the panels.
• The Green Belt can serve as a dust suppressor capturing particulate matter from the nearby air.

What is Green Belt? In essence, a green belt is an invisible line designating a border around a certain area,
preventing development of the area and allowing wildlife to return and be established.
