Q1. What kind of reader are you using? (RF or FINGERPRINT)

A1. I’m using fingerprint reader.

Q2. Do you see “Access Granted” message?

A2. Yes, I see “Access Granted” message.

A3. No, I see “Access Denied” message.

A2. I’m using card reader.

Q3. Does the events appear on the software?

A4. Yes, events appear on the s/w. (Same as Answer ① & ② for Question A2)

A5. No, events do not appear on the s/w. (Same as Answer ③ & ④ for Question A2)

1) Door does not open 17

A2. Yes, I see “Access Granted” message.

Solution

① Check If the ID Information is Properly Registered in the Controller!

: If the ID Information (ID Number + PW) is only registered in the fingerprint reader and not in the
controller, access will be granted in the fingerprint reader but the door will not open.
ID must be registered in the controller, too.

 [Set up] >> [Set System Data] >> Use [Card Holders] to register ID information
 [Access Control] >> Use [Card Holder Management] to register ID information

[Set up] >> [Set System Data] >> [Card Holders] [Access Control] >> [Card Holder Management]

③ What is the recommended cable length of Wiegand cable for Connecting

Controller and Reader?
: Data interference may occur if the recommended length of cable is not used.
Please check the recommended cable length (distance) and install the products within the range.

 The maximum distance of Wiegand cable between controller and reader is 150m, but it is

recommended to install the products within 30~40m for stable system operation.
※ Refer to the product manual for recommended cable and distance.

Install within 30~40m

④ Are you using separate power source for reader and controller?
: When using separate power source for reader and controller, if the ground is not connected,
it may cause a potential difference between reader and controller and not transfer the data properly.

 Use same power source for reader and controller

 Connect ground wire when using separate power sources for reader and controller

1) Door does not open 22

A3. No, I see “Access Denied” message.

Solution

① Check if the user’s fingerprint is too dry or too wet.

: If the condition of the fingerprint is too dry or wet, the fingerprint image may damaged
while capturing the fingerprint image. In this case use “Adaptive Mode”.

※ Adaptive Mode Setting

Product Adaptive Mode Setting

『Adaptive Mode Setting in the Software』

FGR006 -Set up>>Biometric Reader Communication Definition>>Biometrics Reader
Function>>”Change Adaptive Mode” to “1-Use”

『Adaptive Mode Setting in the Hardware, Using LCD and Keypad』

FINGER006 Configuration Menu [F4] >> [11. ADAPTIVE] >> Change the setting to [ENABLE]
(Default setting is configured to [DISABLE])

★ Bad fingerprint condition may cause timeout during fingerprint registration and may cause Fingerprint Error during identification.
★ When registering fingerprint using FGR006 or Hamster, the condition of the fingerprint can be checked on the software.
If the condition of the fingerprint is 3 or lower, it is recommended to use Verification (1:1) Mode.

1) Door does not open 23

② Check if the Fingerprint Registration and Identification Are Done Properly.

: If the fingerprint is not registered properly, it may cause Fingerprint Error and the door will not open.
SINGLE MODE[F4 >> DUAL FINGER MODE  DISABLE] Register same fingerprint TWICE
DUAL MODE[F4 >> DUAL FINGER MODE  ENABLE] Register TWO DIFFERENT fingerprints ONCE each

 Place your finger on the scanner when the RED LED lights up, and remove your finger when the
RED LED turns off.

: If the fingerprint is not identified properly, it may cause Fingerprint Error and the door will not open.
Refer to below information for proper way of registering and identifying fingerprint.

CORRECT INCORRECT

★ Bad fingerprint condition may cause timeout during fingerprint registration and may cause Fingerprint Error during identification.

2) Communication does not work. 25

② Check if the Communication Default Settings are Configured Correctly.

: Check if Communication Speed, Board ID, Com Port Setting are configured correctly.

 Baud Rate must be configured in same value as configured in the controller in same loop.
 Please note that the Com Port may vary according to different PCs.

※ How to Check Communication Port

(Serial Port Expansion using the USB Cable)
: START  SET UP  CONTROL PANEL  SYSTEM

2) Communication does not work. 27

I’m using TCP/IP Communication.

Solution

① Check If There Is Anything Wrong with the Network Status!

: Use PING TEST to check the network status.

※ PING TEST (Check if the network connection is stable, and check network respond speed.)
: START  RUN  ping +IP Address

【When Operating Properly】 【When Network is not Connected Properly】

★ In case the network connection is not stable, it is recommended

to use CAT6 cable or higher.

3) Response speed of Event has slowed. 31
Solution

① Check the Number of Controllers Connected to One Loop

: iTDC PRO II Software and iTDC controller uses polling method to communicate. Therefore, if the
number of controller connected in one roof exceeds the recommended number, it may cause the
communication to slow down.
 The maximum number of controller connection in one loop is 32,

it is recommended to connect less than 16 for stable system operation.

 If the controller has so many access events, the monitoring is impossible in real time ,
please we recommend you to set up 1 LOOP for 1 Controller.

② Check if the Controller That Is Not Being Used is Configured in the Software
: If a controller that is not being used exists in the loop, the system uses polling method to request
communication, which could cause the communication to slow down.
 You can increase the communication speed by deleting the controller that is not being used.

4) I would like to print T&A report, but I can’t find the report. 32
Solution

① Did You Do Closing on Your T&A Data?

: If Daily Closing, Monthly Closing, and Annual Closing are not done, daily, monthly, and annual reports
can’t be generated. Please do closing on the T&A data prior to generating T&A report.

8) I have been using the software for a while. The software has slowed down and “Database Insert Error” message appears. 46
Solution

① Delete Some of the Saved Data from the Database and Reduce the Log File.
: If the stored data exceeds the capacity of the database (over 70% of the total capacity) or large
information is stored in certain table, it may cause the software to slow down and search ability
speed to decrease. In this case, delete the data that is no longer needed and reduce the log file
to increase the software operation speed.

※ Delete Card event and Card Alarm event.
