Plant pressing Steps

 Find any plant/
- gather a couple of plant specimen (best if you have all parts of the plant e.g.
roots, stem leaves , flowers …)
 Put them into a newspapers (if plant presser is unavailable)
- put the specimen inside a few sheet of newspaper to absorb the moisture before
pressing it
 Start layering
-use books and other things at home which can help to press the specimen, this
allows air to circulate and dry the specimen evenly.
 Wait to dry
- it will take 3 weeks for the specimen to dry, so start collecting now.
 Once your specimen is dry enough, place it in a picture frame (use only your old
picture frames) and label your specimen with its common name and scientific
name and the Taxonomic Hierarchy of your specimen e.g.
