Common Core HSA.CED.A.1, HSA.CED.A.3, HSA.REI.B.3, MP.1, MP.3, MP.7

State Standards

Materials and Document camera, whiteboard, paper, writing utensil, calculator, individual

● Hand out whiteboards and use the remainder of the hour to work on
practice problems.
● Walk around and answer questions as needed.
○ Check answers for students when completed and star
whiteboard for correct answers.

Modifications No modifications in this period.

Connections and They have solved equations with one variable, and will be using those skills
Extensions to solve inequalities. This will work toward solving compound inequalities.

Assessment Whiteboard practice problems on solving and graphing.

Criteria

Notes Added to the notes before example 1:

“When you graph an inequality on a number line, you use an open circle if
the inequality is < or >, and a closed circle if the inequality symbol is ≤ or
≥.”
