36-40. Jade’s family is renting a house. They rented a house for 4,500 pesos per month with free
electricity, but the water bill is not included. The apartment owner and his parents have an
agreement that they need to pay the minimum consumption of 110 pesos whether they consumed or
not the 7 cubic meter per month and an additional 13 pesos per cubic meter for every exceeding
cubic meter consumed. Their house bill then will be the house rent plus the water bill.
a. Form a linear equation that will represent the monthly house bill of Jade’s Family. Let x be the
exceeding cubic meter consumed and y be the total monthly house bill.

b. What will be the total house bill of Jade’s family if they consumed additional 10 cubic meters for
the month of September?

c. Jade’s Family pay 4,701 pesos for their house bill for the month of October. How many additional
cubic meters of water did Jade’s family used?
