Activity 1: 4 Pics 1 Word
The students will identify what indoor activity is being shown in the pictures
below.

4.1 Introductory Activity


(3 mins)

The students will answer the following questions:


1. What indoor activities are shown in the picture?
2. Are you familiar with that board games?
3. How to play a domino game?

Activity 2: Batang Henyo word charade


The student will be divided into three teams. They will play charades on words
related to the game domino.
1. Write a words related to domino on a piece of paper. Fold them and put them
in a bowl.
2. A team will guess the word that you picked by acting out, giving signals and
gestures.
4.2 Activity (10 mins). 3. Stop when your team guesses the correct word or time runs out. You will be
given a minute to act out the word.
4. The team with most number of correct guesses wins the game.

Dominoes is a family of tile-based games played with gaming pieces, commonly


known as dominoes. Each domino is a rectangular tile, usually with a line dividing its
face into two square ends. Each end is marked with a number of spots (also
called pips or dots) or is blank. The backs of the tiles in a set are indistinguishable,
either blank or having some common design. The gaming pieces make up a domino
set, sometimes called a deck or pack. The traditional European domino set consists of
28 tiles, also known as pieces, bones, rocks, stones, men, cards or just dominoes,
featuring all combinations of spot counts between zero and six. A domino set is a
generic gaming device, similar to playing cards or dice, in that a variety of games can
be played with a set. Another form of entertainment using domino pieces is the
practice of domino toppling. The total for all domino sets are presented in the
following table.

Dominoes are called bones because the earliest domino tiles were made from animal
bones or ivory. Dominoes are also called tiles stones men tickets or spinners. Each
domino is a rectangular tile with a line dividing its face into two square ends. Each
end is marked with a number of spots also called pips or is blank. The word pip
commonly means a spots or a speck, and perhaps that’s why a domino spots a re

Benefits from playing Dominoes


As any indoor recreation game, playing dominoes provides fun and opportunities for
interaction among family members. At the same time, the game provides learning
opportunities to stimulate the critical thinking and decision making. It also develops
social skills and build character.

The seven steps on how to play domino


1. The first plater places the first tile on the table, usually a double six. If no one
holds the double six, then the double five is played and so on.
2. Once you begin drawing tiles, they are typically placed on the edge so that
you and your opponent can see your tiles. Every players can, thus see how
many tiles remain in the other players hands at all times during the game.
3. The dominoes mut be shuffled to make a boneyard.
4. Acquire a domino set and pick an appropriate place of the game.
5. Take turns placing tiles with your opponent. If someone cannot make a
move, you can draw a tile from boneyard.
6. The game ends when you placed all your tiles or when a game is blocked.
7. Each player chooses a domino at random, with the first move going the
player holding a heavier domino.
