Core Value #1

LOYALTY
LOYALTY
Loyalty is more than just physical prowess when it comes to intramurals.
Respect and good sportsmanship are fundamental for all parties involved,
including rival teams, and spectators. Even in the heat of competition, loyalty
involves treating our opponents with respect and offering our teammates
support and encouragement. We create a positive and inclusive environment
where everyone feels appreciated by demonstrating good sportsmanship.
Loyalty in a team is demonstrated by hard work, dedication, and
collaboration. We encourage one another, share in successes, and help one
another through trying times. A team's sense of unity and favorable,
productive environment are fostered by loyalty.
LOYALTY
Supporting one another emotionally during difficult times is crucial for
maintaining loyalty at home. It is important to think back on the ways in which
our family upholds a high standard of courtesy, empathy, and consideration for
one another's feelings. Being kind and understanding, listening with empathy,
and supporting one another are all examples of loyalty. It's about making a
secure environment where we can communicate honestly about our feelings and
stick by one another through good times and bad. Loyalty exercises at home
strengthen family ties and encourage a caring and encouraging atmosphere.
The basis of a solid and warm connection is loyalty within the family. It involves
sticking with one another through good times and bad. Empathy, respect, and
understanding for one another's feelings are signs of loyalty in a family.
LOYALTY
Mutual respect, trust, and communication are necessary for both family and
team loyalty. They are about supporting one another, cheering each other on,
and being there for each other when they succeed. Loyalty is a strong force that
fortifies bonds and fosters a sense of belonging, whether it's at home or on the
field.

EXCELLENCE
EXCELLENCE: AT SCHOOL
Throughout my personal experiences with all of our class projects, I
consistently upheld a standard of excellence by ensuring the quality of my work
met or exceeded expectations. Believe it or not, I'm quite the perfectionist type
of person—striving always for the best. And beyond individual contributions, I
actively fostered a collaborative and respectful environment. I maintained open
lines of communication with team members, encouraging an exchange of ideas
and feedback. I want to stress the importance of good communication because,
for me, communication was a key priority throughout the projects. By listening
attentively and acknowledging diverse perspectives, I aimed to create a space
where everyone felt valued. Good collaboration was another cornerstone of my
approach, where there is respect and responsibility for the tasks assigned to
each of us.
EXCELLENCE: AT SCHOOL
Moreover, I took on roles that played to my strengths while also being mindful
of others' preferences and strengths. This not only ensured a balanced
distribution of tasks but also showcased a commitment to mutual respect and
shared success. In essence, my commitment to excellence extended beyond the
content of our projects to encompass a collaborative and communicative ethos,
contributing to a positive and high-achieving team environment. This
commitment to both the quality of work and positive collaboration contributed
to the overall success of our projects and strengthened our team dynamics.
EXCELLENCE: FUTURE CAREER
In the pursuit of career aspirations, the interconnectedness of excellence,
professionalism, courtesy, and good communication skills is vital in a workplace
setting. Well, for me, striving for excellence means consistently delivering high-
quality work and exceeding expectations. This commitment contributes to a
professional image, demonstrating competence and dedication to one's role.
For instance, one cannot be a great doctor if they don't possess these kinds of
qualities. As usual, professionalism should go hand in hand with excellence,
encompassing behaviors such as reliability, accountability, and a strong work
ethic. Upholding professional standards fosters a positive work environment and
builds trust among colleagues and superiors. Unfortunately, I have observed that
there are plenty of people who are professional but are arrogant because they
think highly of themselves. That is why I think being professional while being
humble and understanding is of utmost importance.
EXCELLENCE: FUTURE CAREER
On the other hand, courtesy plays a crucial role in interpersonal relationships
at work. Treating others with respect and consideration, irrespective of roles or
levels, creates a collaborative atmosphere. It enhances teamwork and promotes
a workplace culture where diverse perspectives are valued. Again, effective
communication is the cornerstone of success in any professional setting. Clear
and transparent communication ensures that expectations are understood,
reduces misunderstandings, and facilitates efficient collaboration. Whether
conveying ideas, providing feedback, or resolving conflicts, Together, these
qualities create a foundation for a positive and productive workplace, fostering
both individual career advancement and the overall success of the organization.

Core Value #3

INTEGRITY
INTEGRITY
As a student facing a situation testing personal integrity, I believe that
handling it with honesty and respect, while maintaining open communication
and understanding within the group, is of utmost importance.
When faced with a situation that challenges personal integrity, it can be
tempting to take the easy way out or compromise our values. However, acting
with honesty is crucial for maintaining our integrity and ethical principles. By
choosing to be truthful and transparent, even if it may have negative
consequences, we demonstrate a commitment to doing what is right rather than
what is convenient or self-serving. This not only helps to build trust within the
group but also fosters a culture of respect and ethical behavior.
INTEGRITY
Treating others with respect, even in challenging situations, is equally
important. It involves valuing the perspectives and opinions of others, listening
actively, and responding in a considerate manner. By maintaining respect within
the group, we create an environment where open communication and
understanding can thrive. This allows for collaboration, the exchange of ideas,
and the resolution of conflicts in a constructive and respectful manner.
Maintaining integrity in a medical career involves treating colleagues,
clients, and superiors with courtesy and respect. This ethical behavior is crucial
for creating a positive and professional work environment. When we show
courtesy and respect to those we work with, it demonstrates our commitment to
ethical principles and contributes to the integrity of our professional practice.
INTEGRITY
This includes building trust, promoting effective communication, fostering
teamwork and collaboration, upholding professionalism, and creating a positive
work environment. By consistently demonstrating these qualities, we contribute
to an atmosphere of integrity and ethical conduct in our medical practice.

Core Value #4

DISCIPLINE
DISCIPLINE
A student's compass for navigating the maze of college life and beyond is
discipline. It is the key to opening doors to achievement and knowledge in the
academic sphere. In addition to meeting deadlines and sticking to a study plan,
a disciplined student recognizes the inherent link between effort and success. A
certain amount of self-control is required in university, including in social
situations, extracurricular activities, and personal well-being.
Extracurricular activities aside, discipline plays a crucial role in the dynamic
domains of career and personal life. It is the cornerstone of professionalism,
forming dependability, timeliness, and a dedication to ongoing development.
The well-behaved student understands that character, flexibility, and resilience
are just as important to success as academic aptitude.
DISCIPLINE
However, discipline is important outside of the classroom as well. Beyond
college, self-control becomes essential for success in the complex web of life
and work. A student who completes it becomes a professional with a strong
work ethic, dependability, and dedication to lifelong learning. Employers look for
a disciplined attitude that helps one meet deadlines, cooperate well, and
negotiate the complexity of the working world in addition to the knowledge
acquired in lecture halls.
Discipline serves as a compass everywhere, guiding people toward both
personal development and societal responsibility. Character is shaped, integrity
is ingrained, and resilience is encouraged. A disciplined student set out on a
transformative journey, developing habits and a mindset that will benefit them
DISCIPLINE
well beyond their time in college. They don't just pursue a degree. Discipline
becomes a reliable ally as a student traverses the many terrains of both school
and life, showing the way to happiness and success.

Core Value #5

SERVICE
SERVICE
In my engagement with community volunteer work within my school, I prioritized the
values of humility and respect for diversity, recognizing their pivotal roles in fostering a
positive and inclusive environment. Emphasizing selfless contribution, I sought to
acknowledge and appreciate the enriching impact that diverse perspectives bring to
our communal efforts.

Active listening and empathetic engagement played crucial roles in tailoring my

support to individual needs. This underscored the interplay of humility, diversity, and
understanding in achieving effective and meaningful service. The experience not only
deepened my commitment to ongoing personal growth but also reinforced the
importance of maintaining an open-minded approach when working with diverse
groups.
SERVICE
Envisioning my future career path, I place a strong emphasis on adopting a service-oriented
mentality. I aspire to contribute to a positive workplace culture by consistently practicing
courtesy, empathy, and a dedication to collective prosperity. I believe that making positive
contributions should be a cornerstone for fostering a supportive team atmosphere,
transcending individual goals to underscore the strength of unity within an organization.

In service-centric careers, success extends beyond mere transactions. It embodies a genuine

desire to enhance overall well-being, transforming the workplace into an environment where
collaboration and positive contributions not only thrive but are actively encouraged. Success, in
this context, is measured not just individually but by the collective and joint impact of a team
committed to a culture of service. Such an approach ensures that the workplace becomes a
space where collaboration flourishes, and the positive influence of a service-committed team
becomes a driving force for growth and success.
IMPORTANCE OF THE LICEAN CORE
VALUES
Embracing the core values of loyalty, excellence, service, and discipline as a Licean student
has been a transformative journey that extends far beyond the confines of the classroom. Loyalty,
in this context, goes beyond a simple allegiance to the institution. It signifies a deep commitment
to the principles and values upheld by the school, fostering a profound sense of responsibility to
contribute meaningfully to the collective legacy of the institution. This commitment to loyalty not
only establishes a sense of belonging but also serves as a guiding force for personal and
academic growth.

Striving for excellence, as a core value, takes on a holistic dimension. It is not confined to the
pursuit of academic achievements alone but extends to a comprehensive approach to personal
development. It involves embracing challenges, pushing boundaries, and maintaining a steadfast
commitment to continuous improvement. This pursuit of excellence not only equips Licean students
with the necessary skills for academic success but also instills resilience and adaptability,
preparing them to confront the dynamic challenges that lie ahead in their future endeavors.
IMPORTANCE OF THE LICEAN CORE
VALUES
Service, another fundamental core value, emphasizes the importance of giving back to the community.
Whether through active involvement in volunteer work or providing support to peers, the value of service
fosters a spirit of empathy and interconnectedness. It instills a mindset that values the well-being of the
collective over individual success, nurturing a sense of social responsibility that extends beyond the academic
setting.

Discipline, as the fourth pillar, serves as the foundational backbone that provides the necessary structure
for both academic and personal achievements. It instills habits of responsibility, time management, and self-
control—qualities that are indispensable for success not only within the academic realm but also in the
professional arena. As Licean students transition into future professionals, these core values remain steadfast.
Loyalty translates into professional integrity, excellence evolves into a driving force for innovation and
continuous improvement, service expands to responsibility for contributing meaningfully to the broader
community, and discipline transforms into a professional ethic ensuring reliability and consistency in delivering
high-quality work. These values, ingrained during the formative Licean years, continue to serve as a compass,
guiding Licean professionals toward success and fulfillment in their diverse and impactful future endeavors.

Respect in social media is vital for

promoting empathy, understanding,
and constructive dialogue. Upholding
respect online enhances relationships,
reduces conflict, and contributes to a
more inclusive and supportive virtual
community.

Thinking before posting is crucial to prevent
unintended consequences. Consideration

personal and professional reputations, and

ensures that content aligns with one's values
and contributes to a more thoughtful and
responsible digital communication culture.
ENGAGE POSITIVELY

Positive engagement fosters a harmonious
online atmosphere, promoting collaboration
and mutual understanding. It cultivates
supportive communities, strengthens
relationships, and enhances the overall
digital experience. By engaging positively,
individuals contribute to a constructive
online culture, fostering empathy and
resilience in the face of diverse
perspectives and opinions.
DON'T OVERSHARE
DONT #1
Avoiding oversharing online safeguards
personal privacy and security. Limiting the
disclosure of intimate details protects
against identity theft, cyberbullying, and
potential harm. It maintains a healthy
balance between the virtual and real
world, preserving the integrity of one's
personal life while navigating the digital
landscape responsibly.
DON’T SHARE MISINFORMATION

DONT #2
Avoiding misinformation on social media is
crucial to maintain trust and ensure the
accuracy of information. Sharing
falsehoods can mislead and harm
individuals or communities. Responsible
sharing upholds the integrity of online
discussions, fostering a reliable digital
environment where facts prevail over
fiction, promoting informed decision-
making.
DON’T IGNORE DIRECT MESSAGES

DONT #3
Ignoring direct messages can convey
disinterest or rudeness, potentially damaging
relationships and communication. It's
essential to acknowledge messages to
maintain courtesy and uphold healthy
connections. Ignoring messages may lead to
misunderstandings or hurt feelings, hindering
effective communication and collaboration in
both personal and professional contexts.
#3
House Guest
Etiquette
TAKE YOUR SHOES OFF WHEN YOU ENTER
DO #1
Different households have different
views on shoes in the home so it is
always best to make sure you're on
the same page. As you arrive at the
entrance, it is good etiquette to
remove your shoes before walking
through the home, or check with
the homeowner to see if they
would prefer that you did so before
going any further.
KEEP SCREENS AWAY FROM THE DINNER TABLE

DO #2
After your hosts have gone to the effort of serving up
a lovely meal, getting your phone out at mealtimes
can be seen as a rude gesture. Taking a break from
the screen, even if it is just while at the dinner table, is
polite etiquette. It also allows you to enjoy
uninterrupted time with your loved ones and friends as
you tuck into a home cooked meal. This content is
imported from poll. You may be able to find the same
content in another format, or you may be able to find
more information, at their web site.

Offering to help with
household chores when
visiting a friend's house
demonstrates consideration,
appreciation, and respect for
their hospitality. It fosters a
sense of cooperation and
strengthens your friendship.
DON'T GO INTO BEDROOMS WITHOUT PERMISSION

DONT #1
The bedroom is one of the most personal
and private areas of our homes, which is
why you should stay clear of it unless you
are invited in. Sticking to communal
areas such as the living room, kitchen
and bathrooms will ensure that you don't
risk overstepping the mark and making
your host feel uncomfortable.
AVOID THE TEMPTATION TO OPEN UP THE FRIDGE

DONT #2
It is common courtesy to stay away from your
host's fridge and kitchen cabinets, instead
asking their permission if you would like any
food or drink, rather than helping yourself.
Many homeowners feel uncomfortable if they
notice that their guests are snooping, so
unless you have the green light to do so,
avoid heading into the kitchen cabinets or
fridge without asking first.
AVOID ASKING FOR THE WIFI CODE RIGHT AWAY

DONT #3
Even though most of us are often glued
to our mobile phones, it can be seen as
rude to dive straight in for the WiFi
code when you are visiting a friend or
family member. Even if you are visiting
a close friend, it is polite to wait a little
before bringing out your phone and
trying to connect to the WiFi.

Etiquette
DO #1: PUT YOUR UTENSILS ON YOUR PLATE WHEN
YOU ARE TAKING A BREAK/PAUSE OR WHEN YOU ARE

It will significantly simplify

DON’T#1: DON’T TALK WITH
YOUR MOUTH FULL.

If you need to say something,

finish what you're eating and
swallow before speaking. To
avoid scarfing down your food,
eat it slowly and take one bite
at a time.
DON’T#2: DON’T START EATING
UNTIL THE HOST EATS.

You can dig in after the host

has taken their first bite. Some
people like to say grace or
make a toast before eating, so
you may have to wait for that
as well.
DON’T#3: DO NOT PLACE YOUR ELBOWS ON THE
TABLE WHILE EATING.

While you eat, tuck them in by

your sides. Putting your elbows
on the table consumes a lot of
space and is considered
impolite.
