DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL

SCIENCE PROJECT (2023-24)


GUIDELINES:

• Students of class IX and X will have a Science Project from the chapter ‘Natural Resources’ and
‘Management of Natural Resources’ respectively.
• Each section of class IX and X will be divided into 5 groups comprising of 7-8 students. It will be done by the
teacher in charge (i.e., Physics/Chemistry/Biology Teacher of that class/section).
• Each group will be assigned a sub-topic from the Chapter.
• A group leader will be appointed for each group who will delegate the work to the members of that
particular group.
• Group members will contribute in preparing the project. They will work individually or in groups and share
the details with other members. Survey, investigation or data collection can also be included if it has
relevance to the topic.
• The content of the project must be same for a particular group.
• The Project File should be simple, impressive, and maximum of 15-20 pages only.
• Students must attach Annexure I, II and III (i.e., Cover Page, Declaration and Table of Content) in their project
file. More emphasis should be given on the content rather than decoration.
• For online submission of project, group members should submit their collaborative work using different
online tools.
• However, each member should make separate file (hard copy-printed /handwritten) for the purpose of
CBSE evaluation that must be submitted later.

EVALUATION OF PROJECT

• The project will be evaluated based on:


i. The project file (to be submitted prior to project presentation)
ii. Seminar presentation on the project
(to be presented in the month of November 2023)
iii. The seminar presentation of the project can be done through charts, activities like skits,
drama, role play etc.
• Maximum marks allotted for the project will be 5 marks.

LAYOUT/ FORMAT OF THE PROJECT FILE

1. Cover Page (Title Page): Refer Annexure- I


2. Declaration by the Student: Refer Annexure- II
3. Acknowledgement: The candidate may thank all those who helped in the preparation of project.
4. Table of Contents: Refer Annexure-III
5. Main Body of the Project: This is core aspect of the project giving in detail about the project work. The
project work may be divided into following parts:
i) Introduction
ii) Project detail-Theoretical aspect /literature
iii) Observation and Data collection /Survey
iv) Analysis of data/ table/ graph/pictures etc.
v) conclusion
6. References /Bibliography

SUGGESTED TOPICS FOR THE SCIENCE PROJECT

Note:

Each group will take up any one sub-topics given in the chapter.

Each group will include a survey/ investigation/case study of their choice relevant to their topic.

Examples of few survey/case study /investigation etc is given.
