WAR ON DRUGS: A WAR AGAINST ANY FORM OF CRIME

The issue of the war on drugs is a national issue that must be brought to the
attention of those concerned and the public. Most crimes that occur in society are drug
related. From simple theft to heinous crimes, drugs are often the root cause. The
suspects and victims involved were tortured, and the worst of these were the innocent
people affected and dying in the encounters that took place.
In today’s era, the number of crimes taking place within the country is increasing.
It involves not only the poor in life, but also the uplifted. As such, the Philippines is one
of the countries with the highest number of crimes occurring annually in the world.
Noteworthy are the crimes taking place today, such as: murder, theft, rape, fraud. Many
Filipinos are afraid and anxious. The events taking place in our country at the present
time are of great concern to every Filipino. A widespread problem in the daily news
about crime, brutal rape, and murder of young people. If anyone is to blame for heinous
crimes in the country, it is illegal drugs. Take for example the shabu that can reach the
remote faster and in an instant the youngsters become monsters. There is no age limit
for committing a crime. In fact, more and more young people are getting involved in
crime, especially now.
It is well known that the current government is very aggressive in cracking down
on people involved in illegal drugs. Proof of this is the large and growing number of
civilians and police who are dying due to the war on drugs. It is sad and frightening to
think that despite all the efforts of the government the illegal drug trade is still rampant.
It is very difficult to root out the problem of illegal drugs because most of those involved
are right within the bureaucracy. The people who are expected to enforce the law are
also the ones who violate it. Large amounts of money are at stake in the drug trade.
This is the main reason why many forget their sworn duty to the town.
The war on drugs cannot be waged by some in the government. The cooperation
of civilians is very important so that this problem can be alleviated even a little bit. The
persecution and intolerance of people involved in illegal drugs are a great help to the
people. Remember, drug addicts, are indiscriminate victims. Everyone can be a victim
of drug -related crime. Everyone has an obligation to help and intervene in the
government’s campaign against drugs.
