STUDENT MANAGEMENT
TO IMPROVE STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT IN
MADRASAH ALiyah NEGERI (MAN) PACITAN
Abstract
This study aims to find out about the service, coaching and supervision of student
management in improving student achievement at MAN Pacitan? As well as
knowing the development of student achievement based on student preferences at
MAN Pacitan. This research is a form of qualitative approach with a setting in
MAN Pacitan which produces qualitative descriptive data. The results of this
study are, that 1) Management of students in improving student achievement at
MAN Pacitan includes three aspects, namely service, coaching, and supervision
with various activities in it that seek to develop the potential, talents and interests
of students in terms of academic and non-academic aspects. the goal is to improve
student achievement. 2) The development of student achievement based on the
preferences of students at MAN Pacitan is developed through multiple
intelligences, students who have more intelligence and hobbies in terms of
subjects or academics are accommodated with activities such as discussions by
forming subject groups, SKL surgery, and other tutoring. Meanwhile, students
who have more intelligence and hobbies in non-academic fields are
accommodated with various activities outside the classroom, namely
extracurricular activities such as Scouts, Muhadhoroh, MTQ, PMR, UKS, Risma
Theatre, Journalism, KIR, Music Arts, Calligraphy and Sports.

A. Introduction
Education must produce superior graduate products not only in terms of
intellectual but also spiritual and social. Education is a human effort to
grow and develop innate potentials in the form of physical and mental
spiritually in accordance with the values that exist in society and culture.
As a student who is studying at an educational institution, they actually

have the potential and abilities that must be actualized in learning


activities. The high and low level of actualization of a person to his
potential will greatly determine the achievements they achieve.
B. Concept of Service, Coaching and Supervision of Student
Management to Improve Student Achievement at MAN Pacitan
Schools are social institutions that function to meet or satisfy the needs of
students in terms of their education. On the other hand, students expect
that the school can provide satisfaction to their educational needs.
Furthermore, at MAN Pacitan in the acceptance of students, there are also
tests that must be followed by prospective students including:
1. Interview test.
2. Al-Qur'an reading test.
3. Written test.
4. IQ test.

C. Development of Student Achievement Based on Student Preferences


at MAN Pacitan
The development of student achievement is divided into two, namely
academic achievement and non-academic achievement. According to
Suryabrata quoted by Alex Sobur in his book "General Psychology"
explains that one of the successes of students is interest or attention and
maturity. Based on student preferences, namely the preferences or choices
of students to channel their interests and talents.
D. Conclusion
Based on the description and analysis of the data above, it can be
concluded as follows: First, Service, Guidance and Supervision of Student
Management in Improving Student Achievement at MAN Pacitan. Efforts
to improve student achievement in academic and non-academic
management of MAN Pacitan students cover aspects of service, coaching
and supervision.

Second, Development of Student Achievement Based on Student Preferences at

MAN Pacitan. In optimizing the potential of students, MAN Pacitan develops

achievement based on student preferences through teaching and learning activities

in academic and non-academic fields.
