1) The FRU 5461816 (8CH Torso Anterior Connector) is now released. The procedure for the
replacement connector will be found in the next section.

RESOLUTION 1:
1.5T 8 CH Torso Anterior Connector Replacement
1. Overview
This process is used to replace the 1.5T 8CH Torso Anterior Connector. This Procedure is limited to
the following coils:
8CH Body Array GE Coil M3335MC (2418093 Anterior)
USAI 8CH Body Array Coil M3087JE (2377425-2).
2. Preliminary Requirements

3. Procedure
Note: Observe Anti-Static Precautions. Use a wrist strap and ESD workstation (ESD mat connected to
ground and place to connect ESD wrist strap).
3.1. Position the Anterior Coil patient side up exposing the screws. Remove the 6 screws as
identified in Figure 1.

3.2. Remove the cover exposing the electronics of the coil. Remove the DC Connector (J9) and four
(4) RF Cables. The RF Cables are labeled J5, J8, J11, and J13. The DC Connector is labeled J9
(Figure 2).

3.3. Remove the screws holding the connector clamp in place (Figure 3), and then remove
the clamp (Figure 4), and then the connector from the coil (Figure 5). Discard the removed
connector clamp and screws if worn, stripped, or damaged.

3.4. Install the new connector into the coil in reverse order of the previous connector removal.
New screws and clamp have been provided in the event the old parts are damaged. Ensure
the position of the connector is in the correct orientation prior to installing the clamp (Figures
6 and 7).

3.5. Connect the RF Cables and DC Connector to the PCB. Table 1 below identifies the RF Cable
Designator to the PCB designator. The DC Connector will plug into J9 and can only be
orientated in one direction. If needed, refer to Figure 2.
4. Finalization
4.1. Perform a MCQA test to ensure the coil operates properly.
