Period of time that you can divide by 45 minutes. So they say that you should
either you should either nap in. Like 45 minutes or one hour and 30 minutes
or two hours and 15 minutes or three hours.

You know how when you sleep you go in like a cycle? It's like you have a
cycle. Yeah. And they say that the cycle lasts for 45 minutes. So you should, if
you, you should sleep for that amount of time so that when you wake up
you're you're not in the middle of like, you know, you're not in the middle of a
deep cycle or whatever.

Do you find it easy to get to sleep quickly?

it can be difficult to like sort of shut down quickly, right?

And sometime when I when I drink, when I drink Coca-Cola or tea, I can't
sleep. Of course. Yeah, that caffeine, caffeine always makes it more difficult to
sleep. Yeah, definitely.

How was your week then? What was your week like?

so you're just trying to get through the weekend basically, right?

This week there was a lot of rain, so this week there was like a lot of rain.
There was so much. There was so much rain in Madrid this week that there
was like there was flooding,

It's not a bad thing that it rains. Of course it's not a bad thing. It's especially
because in Madrid it doesn't rain very often. Umm. But the problem is that for
example it maybe it doesn't rain for.
Five or six weeks and then it'll rain. Like there'll be, like, all of the rain from the
past five or six weeks will then come then come the next. You know the next,
the next day, for example.

The city doesn't really know how to deal with that. I think you know it's it finds
it difficult to, it finds it very difficult to deal with that kind of that kind of weather.
I think the met the metro system becomes flooded as well. Metro,

the underground, the subway, the subway.

So the the like we you sometimes if the city center is flooded then then you
know sometimes you you see like the water sort of falling down into this into
the stations

I've never been in the subway when that has happened. Ohh, it looks it
doesn't look very nice. Yeah, I think. I think that would be very unpleasant.
Very unpleasant. I don't really know why the city is.

So actually during the during the summer there was maybe two or three days
of very strong rain. And I think there was people, people received a text
message, you know they got a text message.

People could people could receive these warnings. Umm it feels like it's
happening more commonly now. It's it feels like it's more common that.

You know that there is a lot that there is large amounts of rain.

I don't really understand why the climate changed already. Well, I think so.
Yeah, I think so. Yeah. But I don't. I don't really understand why the
government, the Spanish Government, can't. Prepare the city better because.

07:34 Crystal: Usually it's because like a river overflows, for example. You
know. Yeah, I know. But there's no rivers in in Madrid that that really.

That that's like a sign that the typhoon is coming. If there's strong rain. Yes.
Yeah. I just think that's crazy. It's like a crazy amount of rain. Yeah, it's very
annoying. I don't understand. Yeah, but I don't. I don't really understand how
the, how the sewage or the like, the drainage systems.

the subway is not usable.

But the problem is that those lines are maybe suspended for, you know, for
four hours or five hours, perhaps hours. So if you, you know, if you want to
use them, well, you can't basically. But so that's a problem.

It's, I mean, I don't. I don't. Yeah, I don't. I don't know how they. I don't know
how they drain, how they drain the city. I don't know how they do that, but it
feels like.

It would be a difficult task to do anyway, a difficult task for sure but yeah, I
don't know the IT. It seems to go back to normal fairly quickly. So that's you
know that's a good thing

I think it's just awesome, really. It's, you know, it's autumn weather, autumn
weather in Spain is the reason you know it's always rainy and autumn. Winter
is usually less rainy. There's usually less rain in the winter time and then just
more in the autumn so.

But you know this this week, this week has gotten colder as well. It's maybe.

So the dips too well during the night time. For example, during the night time
it's maybe it's 10 degrees at the night time, 10 degree, so colored. So that's a
little bit. That's a little bit colder than the normal.

And then during the day, it's kind of just like, well, I would call boring
temperatures like. It's not super cold, but it's not hot either. It's just kind of like,

Of course, yeah. And the UK is also having very rainy weather at the
moment.

Oh, they're quite nice, I would say, but yeah. OK. Quite nice. Yeah. I mean,
we're nearly. We're nearly in. We're nearly in. Well, I say we're nearly. It's well,
how long? Like we have a week left of October, basically, which is a little bit, a
little bit scary, I think.
The time the time going past really quickly, right? What happens in Macau at
Halloween? Anything or not really did just.

I didn't ask you did you have a good week?

Did you feel OK? I mean, you must have been a bit tired, I guess if you're.
Yeah. If you said you were like a zombie, if it's thought.
as long as you can handle it

15:22 Crystal: I thought that would be an interesting one to talk about with the
with you first of all, of course anywords that caused any problems or that
you're still not sure about?

dread= Feared
dreaded school subjects means that one of the most feared school subjects,
basically

Tell me. Alright. Yeah, that's a funny word sometimes. Yeah. Sometimes in
these articles I feel like they occasionally use words that not many people
use.
concomitantly [kən'kɒmɪtəntlɪ] = simultaneously = at the same time

superfluously = unnecessary if it's not necessary like unneeded would be

superfluously

superfluous (adjective)

To revamp = to update or to kind of like improve to update something and

improve it.

thereof : Grammatical word : the thing that was just mentioned to like schools
in the US revamp the school daily routine in favor of thereof. So like in favor of
the thing that we just talked about in favor of the thing that was just said

Robust means like sort of strong and resistant.

confines : the sort of restrictions restrictions / within the limits /within the
boundaries
to confine : to restraint basically

do you know much about what their physical routine i

How many times a week do they do this?

how many times a week do they have PE? 1

you know, children being overweight do you notice any when you see.

The parents are responsible for this, of course.

So when so when you see it, when you see a child? Hmm. Who's overweight,
you sort of, do you think that's the parents fault?

they don't have any restrictions, right. Yeah. Hmm. Could be. Could be the
case. What do you remember about when you were at school? Do you
remember how many times a week did you? How many times a week did you
have?
How often do you think is enough? Every day.

Remember when you were at school, what sports did you do in the P it like
how we usually play table tennis? We play badminton, football, basketball and
we run.

They weren't going to challenge you on that, I suppose.

Only one in a year. I feel there should I feel there? Yeah, I remember sports
day. But I feel that I feel that there should be more than more than one sports
day.

Have you have you organized? Have you organized the sports day before?
Have you been part of that? Yeah, of course. And it's tired as well. It's
stressful isn't. Yeah, it's stressful. It's tired.

I assume it's something that the kids the kids get very excited about. I
assume, right? Yes. They're excited. Yeah. So I I bet.
if a child is overweight or if a child is a bit fat, then it's the responsibility of
parents, right?

so what Degree of responsibility. Do you think that the schools have for?

Hypocritical if, umm, you know, they learn, they learn about these things. They learn
about them in general studies they say OK, we have to be healthy. We have to eat
these foods and then when they go then when they go to lunch, they find that all the
food is, you know, candy and sweets and all this sort of thing. Yeah, it's hard to
control.

So they do it to avoid to avoid getting to tired or you know that sort of thing.

The government's responsibility when it comes to ensuring that the new generation
are healthy and the new generation make makes sensible decisions.

How much responsibility does the government have in that?

Interesting. OK. So what sort of things do you think the government can do to try and
help to try and help that?

When you see people in Macau, do you, do you think that they are generally?Quite
healthy. Or do you think that there's that there's a lot of fat people or what do you
notice when you're walking around the streets?

And what do you see in when you're when you're walking around the street? Do you
see a lot of fat people, or do you or do they look, are they fairly healthy or not? So
many fat people, I think. Yeah. But I think the high blood pressure is very serious in
Macau.

High blood pressure is a A result of too much salt, maybe?

He got. What does it? What does he have to do about that? How does how does he?
How can he fix that? Is there a way you can fix that? I don't know. He said he got so
much work to do every day, so that's all he got this.
Well, that's a bit that's a bit worrying. I think if he's, if he's having those problems.
But yeah. And do you think your is would you say that your diet is healthy in general?

how is the situation at your school going?

there was a few weeks ago. You said that you were like, not feeling good about the
situation. Basically, right?
07:20 Crystal: Well, for example, I didn't. I didn't like doing PE. If it was raining. If it
was raining outside, then I didn't. I didn't want to. I used to hate. Yeah, I didn't want
to do it. If it was raining,

55 minutes so it just didn't. It didn't feel like much time like it felt like, you know, you
don't change, which maybe took five 5 minutes.

And then you went outside and then you started playing. Yeah. And then it was like,
very. It was over very quickly. You know, it felt like the time went past too quickly.

But and of course all every well I say, everyone pretty much pretty much all the boys,
they just wanted to play football and you're not a strong person.

you know, you get really sweaty and tired and then you have to go. You have to go
back. You have to go back to class.

especially if you're a teenager, you know, especially if you're a teenager, right?

We were allowed to. I don't know if we were allowed to, like, should have a shower
afterwards or something. Then maybe I would have felt differently about it.

just it felt it felt very rushed.

You've never needed to. Or do you just not not like the and it's not like the water
and scale water. what is it about?

What about the swimming pools, where you can touch the bottom? What about the
swimming pools where you can stand up?

You know you have oxygen, so people said they're different. It's not really the same.
Well, I mean it it kind of is the same as swimming, but I think it might be a good way
to learn actually.
Well, you you have like special equipment and you have.

You don't swim necessarily. You know you've got you. You could you just go down,
you put your cash. Yeah, like you. You attach, you attach weights to yourself, so you
kind of go up and down and then you drop the weights so that you can swim up and
all these kind of things.
I'd like to try it at some point. I think. I think it would be very fun to do, you know,
just kind of be underwater, like for a for a maybe a long period of time. I think it
would feel a bit strange, you know, to be underwater for so long.

you could go diving, would you? Would you be afraid to go diving or because they, as
I say you, you know, you've got I haven't tried. You're diving. You know you've got
you've got. You've got oxygen, so you know.

are there many places in Macau to go diving?

you know as you as you go deeper and deeper there is different it can become more
dangerous if you go if you know if you go deeper and deeper that it can become a
dangerous.
14:40 Crystal: So yeah, I think I think advanced level when you go the deep, yes, I
agree. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. Exactly. And, you know, it's like if if you're if you're diving
and you come to the surface too quickly, it can be dangerous for your lungs.

14:50 Crystal: Like it's, I mean it sounds silly, but like you're not. You're not supposed
to hold your breath because.
15:10 Crystal: Like as you as you go up and down, you're like you're it's. Yeah, it's
weird. Like your lungs change shape or you know it'sYeah, I don't quite understand
fully the science behind it. Yes. But you know it is it is the science is there so.

we'll have a good week and hopefully not too stressful, right?

We'll have a great holiday then. Lucky you. Yeah, and we'll speak again next week.
OK. See you.

bye for now. See you.
