CONTENT STANDARD Main: 1.1 Recognise and reproduce target language sounds
Complementary: 3.1 Recognise words in linear and non-linear texts by using
knowledge of sounds of letters

LEARNING STANDARD Main: 1.1.1 Recognise and reproduce with support a limited range of high
frequency target language phonemes
Complementary: 3.1.1 Identify and recognise the shapes of the letters in the
alphabet

LEARNING OBJECTIVES Main: At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to listen and write at least
6 correct phonemes.
Complementary: At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to sound out at
least 3 phonemes correctly with support.

SUCCESS CRITERIA 1. Pupils will be able to listen and understand the phonemes.
2. Pupils will be able to write correct phonemes.
3. Pupils able to sound out phonemes correctly.

STARTER Pupils are guided to sing the Phonics song with gestures.

LESSON DELIVERY 1. Pupils listen to the sounds s,a,t,p and watch the gestures shown by the
teacher.
2. Pupils are guided to listen and say out the words by using a suitable
blending technique.
3. Pupils listen to the sounds and complete ‘Listen & write’ worksheet
given by teacher.
4. Pupils complete the worksheet with teacher’s guidance.
5. pupils will be able to listen and write at least 6 correct phonemes.
6. Pupils sing the phonics song with the correct gestures based on the
sounds introduced.
7. Pupils do conclusion of the day lesson.
