Lesson Objective:
After reading and discussing a model of close reading, students will be
able to identify details in the text that help reveal the theme. (RL.8.1,
RL.8.2)

Content of Lesson: Students will begin by writing Week 8 Vocab in their workbooks as a Do

add any information they need. After reviewing they will complete the
two study sync assignments for Slam, Dunk, and Hook. We will silently

reviewing the Plot from Monkey’s Paw, they will complete the Plot
Structure for Abuela with their shoulder partners and we will read
Frankenstein after that.
