Assessment Description

Activity 1: Group Case Study (5%)

• Before Week 5 or 6 you must form groups of 4 to 5 students.
• At the beginning of class your lecturer will distribute a question made up of 4 to 5 parts to each
group. The questions will be based on Topics 1 to 3.
• The activity is open book and a formula sheet is not provided.
• Details on how the activity will be distributed and collected will be given closer to the test.
• You will then be given 40 minutes to complete the questions in your group (you may wish to
allocate a question to each group member). The answers cannot be changed after the 40
minutes are up.
• Once the answer papers are collected, your lecturer will review the questions.
• Each group submission will be marked out of 5 and each group member will receive the same
mark.

Activity 2: Individual Test (20%)

• The test will cover Topics 1 to 4. You should therefore know, understand and remember your
notes on the MNE and the international business environment, the international monetary
system, international trade and the balance of payments and foreign exchange markets.
• The test will go for one hour, and you will be given ten minutes reading time at the beginning.
• The test will consist of multiple choice questions and short answer questions.
• To access the test you need to go to the assessments tab on the MBA612 portal page. In
the assessments table you then must click on the “Test” link and when prompted enter a
password given to you by your lecturer. You will then complete the test online.
• When you do the online test, your camera must be turned on.
• To prepare for the test, make sure you carefully review your notes and the questions contained
in the notes. If you know your notes well, then you will do well in the test.
• The test is open book and a formula sheet is not provided.
• You will need a calculator.
