Job Role: Discipline Engineer (Mech, EC&I, Process & Civil)

1. Position Purpose:
To provide project engineering and management services to clients by the effective
management of deliverables & projects based at the company locations and client sites..

2. Key Responsibilities:
a. Strategic Work
• Develop and maintain company standards in line with regulatory and business
requirements.
• Effectively coordinate, communicate, and monitor progress against plans and processes,
developing strong client relationships.
• Help create and document discipline department systems and processes.
• Report into the weekly discipline Team meetings and Project Team meetings, updating
progress made and issues encountered, to allow others to update the relevant
weekly/monthly reports. Effectively liaise with colleagues and clients.
• Follow Projex Solutions ‘Work Instructions’ and agreed and approved procedures.
• Take personal responsibility to promote Professional Engineering in their applicable
Institution and seek to develop ‘expert’ knowledge in a subject or sector e.g COMAH,
Pharma, Food production, Stress Analysis etc.

b. Tactical Work
• Effectively communicate with team, colleagues, lead engineers and operations manager in
support of departmental goals. Deputise for Lead Engineer as and when appropriate.
• Effectively manage self and coordinate other resources associated with project
requirements.
• Efficiently communicate with client and external parties.
• Work as an individual and as a contributor within the team, whether multi or single
discipline, to deliver allocated tasks.
• Liaise, review, comment, document and approve 3rd party work and input for project
deliverables which fall under the discipline remit.
• Review, check, comment, document and submit internal design work and input for project
deliverables which fall under the discipline remit in line with the ISO9001 quality
management system
• Manage assigned deliverables and monitor & report on deliverable progress, schedule,
duration, quality, and any costs associated with the deliverable, to achieve allocated targets.
• Deliver client project deliverables as part of the project and program cycle.
• Use and where appropriate develop work instructions and templates in line with the
ISO9001 quality management system.

• Use and where appropriate develop risk assessments, method statements and
documentation associated with the company safety manual
• Undertake continued professional development in line with relevant professional body
requirements.
• Maintain customer service, good communication and positive relationships with clients.
• Be proactively involved with and delivery continuous improvement initiatives in line with
company goals.

3. Standards:
a. Position Specific:
• Respond to requests in a timely manner.
• Communicate with the whole team in a clear, polite and respectful way at all times.
• Maintain clear, accurate and accessible records at all times.

b. Company-wide:
• All work will be performed in accordance with all government laws, regulations, ordinances,
and court rulings in those jurisdictions in which the company operates.
• All routine work will be documented in work instruction.
• All work will be performed according to company policies and standards inherent in all
position contracts, system action plans, employee manuals, ongoing policy memoranda,
and facilities and dress codes.
• Client and company information will be held as strictly confidential outside the company.
• Problems with any system must be brought to the attention of a manager via the corrective
and preventative action register so the system can be improved,
• All Policy memoranda indicating changes in policy and/or procedure will be stored in each
employee’s operations manual, until the time an updated procedure is provided.
• Employees will provide staff assistance as requested; each employee may be asked from
time to time to cover other areas of accountability and/or departments.
• All business communications, whether verbal, visual, or written, whether for internal or
external use, will be professional in tone and content and according to any applicable and
existing company policies and standards.
• Employees will respect each other’s time, space, and need for concentration. Socialising and
interruptions must not impede workflow.
• Employees will have regularly scheduled meetings with their manager.
• Employees are encouraged to recommend ideas for the improvement of their department
and position that are consistent with the company’s Strategic Objective.
