fun fact! Frog hearts only have three chambers, so

both oxygenated and deoxygenated blood
mixes as they return to it. They also have a slower
metabolic rate and adapted a pulmocutaneous
circulation which allows them to absorb oxygen
through their skin!

pulmo = pertaining to the lungs

cutaneous = relating to or affecting the skin
blood
Blood
Blood has two components:
liquid component & solid component
The plasma is the liquid component; it carries
the solid components such as the white and
red blood cells
Frog blood cells are nucleated & oval in shape

Thank you For
Watching!
did you know?
Just like humans, frogs have a systemic
circuit which pumps oxygenated blood
throughout the body. however, frogs have
an "extra" pulmocutaneous circuit which
transports the blood to the skin to pick up
oxygen before being pumped back
throughout the body!!!
