Memorandum

November 20, 2023

To: Professor Seth Mose

From: Nora Trujillo
Subject: Progress Report on the Manual: “prevention of ergonomic injuries
Training Manual.”

This report is on the progress I have made from October 24 through November
20, 2023, on the manual “prevention of ergonomic injuries Training Manual.”
This manual is intended for someone who knows little to nothing about
prevent injuries. The manual will provide important information on how to
prevent ergonomic injuries through exercises they can do themselves. This
manual will also ensure that you choose the exercises that work best to get the
best possible result from your ergonomic exercises. Having personally done
many exercises and taken physical therapies related to my ergonomic injury in
the past, the search for information has been very successful and with few
problems.
My Progress from October 24 through November 20, 2023
When Professor Mose first assigned this manual project on October 24, I
already had a good idea of the topic that I wanted to use. I wanted to use the
same topic that I used for my instructions project. That topic is “prevention of
ergonomic injuries Training Manual..” For this topic I had a plan to have 4 total
chapters.
Picking a Topic
After I had my three topic choices picked out, I turned them in for review to
Professor Mose. He was on board with my choice to use my instructions
project topic, my “prevention of ergonomic injuries Training Manual.” topic
was approved.
Researching a Topic
Once I got my topic approved, I started picking apart my instructions project to
see what research I already had at my disposal. Once I pulled information form
my instructions project, I revisited my referenced sources and researched for
more in depth information. This deep dive research led me to new sources
with a tremendous amount of information. My research was very successful
and I had no problems with finding the amount of information that I needed.

Creating an Outline
The next step I had to take in setting up my manual was to create an outline
based on the research I had gathered. I had a rough outline already in place
since I already did my instructions project on this topic. However, while this
outline mimicked the order of my instructions project, this outline needed a lot
more detail. I also needed to integrate all of the new formatting and design
knowledge. I had a few issues creating this outline because, I dont really know
how start but im really happy with the results.

Beginning the Manual

Now that I had all of my information and it was sorted, it was time to start
writing the rough draft. This was easier than I thought it was going to be. I
think that creating the outline helped me cut away the material that wasn’t
important and enabled me to see what I really needed to write about. Chapter
1 is solely on teaches you information about what ergonomics is to know what
it is. This chapter will end up being the shortest of the 4 chapters. Chapter 2
teaches about the most common risk factors are and how to identify them.
Once all the information about the common risk , chapter 3 talks about injury
prevention, elimination of ergonomic risks and ergonomic risk control, and the
chapter 4 tal about the Correct ergonomic practice.
Tasks Left to Complete from November 20th to December 27th.

During this ten-week period:

• Start and complete chapter 3 and 4
• Finish reference page
• Assemble rough draft
• Participate in a peer review
• Edit final draft

Start and Complete Chapter 3 and 4

Chapter 3 and 4 are my longest chapter. It will require the most detail.
However, I already have most of the information I need written down from
part of my instructions project. For the most part of this chapters, I will just
have to reformat my instructions project.

Finishing the Reference Page

My cover page at this is completed. The only thing left to do is alphabetize my
sources.

Assembling the Rough Draft

Once I finish writing chapter 3 and 4, assembling the rough draft will be
simple. This is due to the fact that during my writing period, I kept all of my
information well organized. The process to assemble this draft will simply be to
format the chapters together. Once everything is formatted together, I will do
a final check for and spelling or grammar mistakes. Once all of that is complete,
I will be ready to print the rough draft.
Participate in a Peer Review
During my peer review I plan to listen to what my husban and 2 ex-coworkes
think I should take another look at. As well as gaining information from what
they tell me, I plan to take information about any design flaws I have by
looking at their rough draft. I look forward to having important dialogue about
the status of my manual.
Editing the Final Draft
After the peer review, I plan to take all the feedback I received and revise my
rough draft. Once I have made the changes, I feel were appropriate, I will
format the final version of the manual.

Conclusion
I am very pleased with the progress I have made on this project. I've had some
problems find credible information but I have managed it. Now I have to find
the right flow and layout for the draft and final copy. I hope the peer review
gives me a good idea of how much work they have left. However, I am sure
that there will not be any major delays. If you have any question or concerns,
please contact me at ntruji01@my.blueridgectc.edu and I will be happy to
assist you address them.
