FOODWAYS
• Foodways is a term to describe all the ways we plant, grow, harvest, prepare, store, and eat food.
Foodways also includes beliefs and traditions about food, like proper foods and rules for eating at
certain times of day, the best foods for special occasions, and the ways we decorate or present our
foods.

SCULPTURE PROJECT
OBJECTIVE
• After completing the handouts for this lesson, you will be researching a culture and a
meal they eat. This must be a meal you have not tried before nor a meal that is in your
culture. No two students will have the same meal or close culture.
• Once you have researched a tasty meal, you will use the pre-planning project handout to
complete your life-life food sculpture that must be life size, aesthetically pleasing, and as
close enough as possible to the researched meal.You will use toilet paper and water to
build your sculpture!
