INTRODUCTION

The Purpose of this logbook is to provide evidence of the Practical Training program and of the practical experience gained therein. It also
provides proof of assessment and evaluations during the Practical Training process.

This document provides evidence of practical experience gained on the B737-7/8/9/10 MAX (CFM LEAP-1B) B1.1&B2 and meets the
requirements of UAE GCAA CAR 66 Appendix III.

* If aircraft power or other applicable systems are unavailable a Briefing/Simulation will be carried out in place of a Functional Operational Test
(FOT) and Removal/Installation (R/I). Briefing/Simulation will be carried out using appropriate AMM tasks. FOT and R/I will be discussed/
demonstrated to the trainees in detail. This briefing/simulation will cover the correct use of special tools and equipment, human factors, specific
difficulties and testing/functioning.

PRACTICAL TASKS

(P) PRACTICAL TRAINING PROCESS AND TASKS

• Component Location (LOC) tasks may be carried out on aircraft or Synthetic Training Devices (STD).

• The practical tasks listed under the heading ‘P Tasks’ are classified by the importance of a task as per GCAA CAR 66 guide lines.

• The Practical Trainer will assist in the completion of the tasks using either an operational aircraft or a long layover aircraft or the
component workshop.

• All (P) tasks shall be signed off by the Practical Trainer.

• Tasks performed by the trainee under the supervision of the Practical Trainer should demonstrate his/her overall competence to
execute the necessary maintenance tasks without any supervisory help. It is the responsibility of the Practical Trainer to guide and
evaluate the trainee on different levels:

a) ATTENDANCE: The Practical Trainer will ensure the trainee is punctual, arriving on time at the beginning of each practical training
session and after meals breaks.

b) COMPREHENSION: The Practical Trainer will regularly check that the trainee understands the task assigned to him and is able to
use the manuals effectively.

c) INTEREST: The Practical Trainer will encourage the trainee to CARicipate by asking questions to maintain concentration, and
to work together with other members of the group.

d) KNOWLEDGE: The Practical Trainer will check that the trainee correctly answers his questions.

e) RESPONSIBILITY: The Practical Trainer will evaluate that the trainee assumes his responsibility in executing tasks and/or
procedures.

f) COMPETENCE: The Practical Trainer will determine that the trainee has sufficient competence to perform the tasks assigned to him
without any supervisory help.

g) SAFETY: The Practical Trainer will observe and determine if the trainee is safety conscious and carries out all his tasks ensuring all
necessary warnings and cautions are followed as per the AMM.

PRACTICAL TRAINING ASSESSMENT PROCESS:

One assessment will be carried out at the end of the Practical Training. This assessment shall be performed by an Assessor(s) to ascertain
the Trainee’s capability and competencies relevant to the aircraft type. One task shall be chosen randomly from the logbook to ascertain the
practical knowledge of the candidate. In all areas of assessment only one “POOR” grading will be acceptable, more than one “POOR”
grading will require a second assessment to be carried out.
If a second/re-assessment is required, an extra page will be placed after the relevant assessment sheet stating the word “Second Assessment”.

PRACTICAL TRAINING ASSESSMENT

WARNINGS: Instructor/Practical Trainer/Engineer clearance is mandatory for the following tasks:


- Opening and / or closing: Cargo doors, Panels, Access Doors, Cabin Doors.
- Tests from cockpit using on board maintenance device.
- Hydraulic system pressurization / depressurization.
- Actuation of engine control.
- Depressing of guarded P/B or switches.
- Movement of flight control.
Wearing of work clothes and safety shoes are required when accessing the aircraft.
Safety policies of the accommodating company must be strictly followed.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT WHEN THE AIRCRAFT IS MOVING UNDER ITS OWN POWER ON THE GROUND:
• NO PERSONS SHALL GO WHERE THE AIRCRAFT CAN CAUSE THEM INJURY
• NO FOREIGN OBJECT IS PRESENT WHERE THE ENGINES CAN BLOW THEM AWAY OR CAN PULL THEM INTO THE ENGINES
BY SUCTION.
OBEY THESE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS DURING TOWING PUSHBACK OR MOVEMENT OF THE AIRCRAFT.
• MAKE SURE THAT THE PATH OF THE AIRCRAFT IS CLEAR BY PROPER MARSHALLING.
• MAKE SURE THAT THE TOW BAR AND THE TRACTOR ARE STRICTLY USED ONLY FOR THEIR INTENDED PURPOSES IN
ORDER TO PREVENT THE RISK OF INJURIES.
• DURING TOWING/TAXIING OPERATIONS (LOW-SPEED OPERATIONS INCLUDED), EACH PERSON IN THE AIRCRAFT MUST
BE SEATED AND THE SEAT B E L T MUST BE FASTENED. IF THE SEAT BELT IS NOT FASTENED, THERE IS A RISK OF INJURY
IF THE AIRCRAFT STOPS SUDDENLY.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT WHEEL CHOCKS ARE IN POSITION WHEN THE AIRCRAFT IS PARKED.

WARNING: DO NOT GET AIRCRAFT FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU DO:
• FLUSH IT AWAY WITH CLEAN WATER.
• GET MEDICAL AID.

WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU WORK ON THE ENGINE COMPONENTS IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE
COMPONENTS CAN STAY HOT FOR UP TO ONE HOUR
