The document provides work instructions for using a depth gage measuring device. It outlines 5 steps to take before measuring, including cleaning the device, checking surfaces, and setting the maximum measuring range. It also lists 4 steps for when measuring, such as positioning the object, applying even force, and turning the device on and off correctly. Potential measurement issues are identified, such as leaving no space between surfaces, and examples show how to measure correctly parallel to a surface.

How Before measuring When measuring 1. Clean off any debris, ect on the measuring surface and main rod. 1. Position object to be measured. 2. Do appearance check on measuring surfaces on base/ main rod. 2. Stick the object to be measured and base together. 3. Move base until the maximum measuring range. 3. Measure with appropriate, yet even measuring force. 4. Push the power ON switch. 4. Press power OFF switch after measuring is complete. 5. Lay base flat on a measuring plate, etc. and press ZERO switch.
NO GOOD Examples of measuring issue CORRECT When measuring parallel to the surface
