My Simple Daily Routine

In the morning, I wake up at around 7:00 a.m. I get out of bed and go to
the bathroom. I brush my teeth and take a shower. Then, I get dressed in
my clothes for the day.

After that, I go to the kitchen and have breakfast. I usually have cereal
with milk.

At about 8:00 a.m., I leave for work or school. When I arrive around 9:00
a.m., I start my activities.

Around 11:00 a.m., I take a short break and have a snack. Then, I continue
working or studying until lunchtime at around 1:00 p.m. I have lunch to
recharge for the afternoon.

In the afternoon, I keep working or studying. At about 3:00 p.m., I take

another short break to rest. After that, I continue my activities until I
finish work or school, usually around 5:00 p.m.

When I'm done, I go back home. I relax by watching TV or reading a

book. Around 7:00 p.m., I have dinner. After dinner, I spend time with my
family or friends.

At around 10:00 p.m., I go to bed and sleep.

3.5 Take a look at the Simple Present grammar.

Simple Present
Afirmative Negative Interrogative

I work I don't work Do I work?

You work You don't work Do you work?

He works He doesn't work Does he work?

It works It doens't work Does it work?

They work They don't work Do they work?

We work We don't work Do we work?

Afirmativas no Presente Simples:

Na forma afirmativa do Presente Simples, usamos o verbo no infinitivo (forma base) para todas as pessoas, exceto na
terceira pessoa do singular (he, she, it), onde acrescentamos um -s ou -es ao verbo.

Exemplos:
Eu estudo inglês. (I study English.)
Ela corre todas as manhãs. (She runs every morning.)
Nós gostamos de pizza. (We like pizza.)
Eles jogam futebol aos fins de semana. (They play football on weekends.)

Negativas no Presente Simples:

Para formar negativas no Presente Simples, utilizamos o auxiliar "do not" (ou a forma contraída "don't") antes do verbo na
forma base. Novamente, na terceira pessoa do singular, usamos "does not" (ou "doesn't") seguido do verbo com a
terminação -s ou -es.

Exemplos:
Eu não assisto TV. (I do not watch TV. / I don't watch TV.)
Ele não gosta de café. (He does not like coffee. / He doesn't like coffee.)
Nós não trabalhamos aos domingos. (We do not work on Sundays. / We don't work on Sundays.)
Elas não estudam matemática. (They do not study math. / They don't study math.)

Interrogativas no Presente Simples:

Para formar perguntas no Presente Simples, inverta a ordem do sujeito e do verbo auxiliar "do" (ou "does" na terceira
pessoa do singular). O verbo principal é usado na forma base.

Exemplos:
Você estuda inglês? (Do you study English?)
Ela corre todas as manhãs? (Does she run every morning?)
Vocês gostam de pizza? (Do you like pizza?)
Eles jogam futebol aos fins de semana? (Do they play football on weekends?)

exemplo:
"Do you study English?" (Você estuda inglês?)
"Yes, I do." (Sim, estudo.)
"No, I don't." (Não, não estudo.)

"Hi there! I wanted to tell you about the things I enjoy doing in different
weathers and seasons. Let's start with spring. When the weather gets
warmer and the flowers start blooming, I love going for walks in the
park. The fresh air and colorful flowers make me feel happy and relaxed.

In summer, when the sun shines and it's nice and warm outside, I like
going to the beach. I enjoy swimming in the cool water and building
sandcastles with my friends. It's so much fun to play beach volleyball
and have picnics.

When autumn comes, and the leaves change color and fall from the
trees, I like going for hikes in the woods. The leaves make a satisfying
sound under my feet, and I enjoy collecting different leaves.

In winter, when it's cold outside and snow covers the ground, I love
building snowmen and having snowball fights with my family. I also like
to drink hot chocolate by the fireplace and read my favorite books.

I can ride a bike very well. I ride it to school and to the park on weekends. It's a
lot of fun!

I can swim too. My dad taught me how to swim last summer, and now I can
swim in the pool without any help. It's fantastic!

There are some things I can't do yet. I can't cook, but I really want to learn. My
mom is a great cook, and she says she will teach me soon.

I can't drive a car because I'm still too young. But when I grow up, I hope I can
drive and go on exciting road trips.

I can't fly like a bird, but I can dream about flying. Maybe one day, I can go on an
airplane and see the world from high up in the sky.

That's a little bit about me and the things I can and can't do. What about you?

"to":

Afirmativa:
I can swim. (Eu posso nadar.)
She can play the guitar. (Ela consegue tocar violão.)
They can speak Spanish. (Eles sabem falar espanhol.)
We can dance together. (Nós podemos dançar juntos.)

Negativa:
I can't sing. (Eu não posso cantar.)
He can't cook. (Ele não consegue cozinhar.)
It can't fly. (Isso não pode voar.)
We can't go to the party. (Nós não podemos ir à festa.)

Interrogativa:
Can you swim? (Você pode nadar?)
Can she speak French? (Ela sabe falar francês?)
Can they come to the concert? (Eles podem vir ao concerto?)
Can I borrow your pen?

pode usar "Yes, I can" (Sim, posso) ou "No, I can't" (Não, não posso).

THE FUTURE
Lucas: Hey Maria, what do you think the future will be like?

Maria: Oh, definitely! I often think about how things are going to change.

Lucas: Yeah, it's pretty exciting to think about. I think technology will be very important.

Maria: I agree. I think we're going to have even smarter phones and maybe self-driving cars.

Lucas: Absolutely! And I believe people will be more connected than ever. We will
communicate with friends and family all around the world.

Maria: True, and I'm sure we're going to have more renewable energy sources. Our planet
needs that.

Lucas: You're right. We will have cleaner air and water. It's crucial for our future.

Maria: And what about space travel? Do you think people will travel to other planets?

Lucas: I think so. Scientists are already working on it. I believe someday we will go to Mars.

Maria: Wow, that would be amazing! I think there will be so many opportunities for us in the
future.

Lucas: I agree. We're going to have a chance to make a positive impact on the world.

Maria: Definitely. I will do my part to help the environment and make the world a better place.

Lucas: That's a great attitude. I will also work hard to achieve my goals and make a difference.

Maria: It's nice to talk about the future like this. It gives us hope and motivation.

Lucas: Absolutely. The future will be what we make of it. And I'm optimistic that it will be
bright.

Maria: Me too. Let's remember that our actions today will shape the world of tomorrow.

Lucas: You're absolutely right, Maria. I'm looking forward to seeing how everything will
unfold.

Maria: Same here, Lucas. Let's keep dreaming and working towards a better future.

Lucas: Agreed. We will make a difference, no doubt about it.

Maria: Definitely, Lucas. Our generation will contribute to the amazing things that are
going to happen.

Lucas: Well said, Maria. Let's go out there and make our mark on the world!

Maria: Let's do it, Lucas. The future is ours to create!
