Instead of being cultivated for food or raw resources, ornamental plants are produced for decoration.

Most of the time, they are purposefully planted for aesthetic purposes. But attractive plants also have
less apparent purposes, such air purification, scent, and drawing in animals. Plants categorized as
ornamentals fall into many categories and include a diverse range of species: trees and shrubs;
cutflowers; decorative grasses; lawn or turf grasses; indoor and potted plants; bedding plants.

Cut flowers have been plucked from the vine, their thorns removed, and they are prepared for use in
fresh flower arrangements. Common cutflowers include tulips, lilies, roses, carnations, and gerberas.
When given the opportunity to reach their full potential, ornamental grasses are employed in the
landscape in the same manner as other decorative plants or perennials. These consist of cattails, restios,
rushes, and sedges.3. Lawn or turf grasses are creeping legumes or perennial grasses that provide ideal
ground cover in areas such as playing grounds, golf courses, and residential lawns.
