However, each Housing Association has its own specific allocations policy. There are some
differences between our policies particularly in relation to applicants who have former housing debt,
the number of bedrooms which you can apply for and anti-social behaviour/criminal convictions.
Housing Benefit are unlikely to cover the full cost of the property if it is larger than you need and
therefore the Housing Associations may not consider it suitable. The final decision regarding an offer
of a property is made by the Housing Association after they have completed their own checks. It is
therefore important to be aware of this when placing a bid.

When you are nominated to a property you will need:

 A bank account in your own name, to pay your rent.


 To pay up to 4 weeks rent in advance to your new landlord.
 To pay any removal costs and to be able to furnish your new home.

not grant permission to keep pets in this type of accommodation. We will include this
information in the advert where we are able to. If you have a pet, you may need to consider
alternative arrangements for re-homing. If you do not have a pet, it is not a good idea to get
one now.
