1. Design
The design must incorporate Supplier & Valmont’s accumulative knowledge in Roller Conveyor
and best practices in One Flow Technologies such as Monterrey Bay 3.
2. Machine Overview
Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic Design. According to ANSI/CEMA, NOM, IEC, for the design of
the Motorized Roller Conveyor, coupled with chains and activated with a gear motor supported
by SKF Pillow Block Bearing, Structural Steel, Jogging ON/OFF control with VFD Speed Control
with Open Loop, including safety package according to ISO, OSHA Safety Machinery Standard.

Bed Speed – 0 to 600 IPM VFD Controlled, Open Loop for Speed Control, Reversible,
Overloaded Protection (Mechanical and Electrical)
Electrical Protections for Current Overload and Over/Low Voltage and Phase Lost.
Pull-E-Stop in Both sides of the roller Conveyor.
E-Stop Synchronized with previous and next Slat Conveyors and Burn Table PG-30.
Capacity 1 Ton (+25% Overloaded Protection) for scrap plate skeleton.
Table Size Width: 6' - 6" x Length 43' x Height (5' to 8' Ascending & Adjustable)
Gear-Motor with enough power to easily move 1 Ton Scrap Plate from Skeleton plus all the

8. Safety
• The machine will be designed and built in compliance with Valmont Global EHS Standards
HS-05 Machinery Safety Std, ANSI B11.19, ISO 13850, and applicable OSHA safety
standards.
• Safety Devices consider (this is not a limiting list):
RFID switch Technology for as much as possible Safety Devices according to ISO
14119.
Physical Barriers according to ANSI B11.19
E-Stop (Pull, Push Bottom, etc.) according to ISO 13850 and/or IEC 60204-1.
Lighting Curtain according to IEC 61496-1/-2
Zone Exclusion Radar according to IEC / EN 62061 and/or ISO 13849.
Interlocks for Mobile Physical Barriers according to ISO 14119.
PLC or Safety Controller + I/O Safety Module + Safety Contactors + Power Supply, PLe,
cat. 4 according to ISO 13849-1 and SIL CL3 according to IEC 62061.
