1. Harana was the courtship tradition, letter
sending was the usual communication,
and Bahay Kubo was everybody’s home.
2. Culture back then, whether pre-colonial
or colonial, was a lot more “traditional” …
they observed strict societal norms, such
as caste systems, blood rights, etc.… and
nearly everything they did was also
heavily influenced by spiritual beliefs,
whether it’s farming, fishing, hunting, sex,
where to erect their houses… they
basically had a lot of superstitious beliefs
back then.
3. Maria Clara In the past, the Filipino girl
was inherently virtuous, modest, well-
respected, and polite and most of all not
punished. Being a Filipino woman means
that a girl possesses the virtues, the
beautiful, the submissive, the loving, and
the other morals that make up the
woman's chastity.

family dining table at each meal is one of
the best practices of Filipinos. The happy
story is one of its bearings.
5. Street Games In the past, young people
often made happy memories and
experiences on the street while playing
picket, Chinese garter, kettle, trumpet,
and more. This is where good friendships
and healthy bodies develop.

NOW
Today, couples court each other through texts
messages, people contact each other through
text and social media, and houses have evolved
to be luxurious.
Nowadays, most people are no longer as
“traditional” as they used to be… this is most
likely the result of contact with different
cultures and especially modernization.
Because of our busy schedules, most people
nowadays no longer strictly observe the
formalities of “traditional protocols”.
Most women are now liberated
Perhaps as a result of modernization, young
women are compelled to play with men. If
men and women used to stick their hands
together, they would have to get married, now
even in bed or to have sex that they do not
have to marry.
Physically present but mentally absent to the
food, the true spirit of family communication
is slowly dying out because dad, mom, sister
and older brother, and youngest don't leave
the phone and other gadgets even in the face
of hunger. Neglected children are an
unpleasant thing as a result.
VIDEO GAMES Computers, tablets, selfies are
the playground of young people. Obesity will
be the result.
