Allengers 100 X-Ray generator is ideally suited for Chest/ Extremities/ Skull/ Abdomen and
other routine examinations.

This unit incorporates State - of – the- Art technology and is designed keeping in mind the

diverse requirements of the Radiologists. It is a Full Wave Rectified Unit (Two Pulse) and

consists of Control Panel & Self contained Tube Head Unit with manual collimator.

This machine is Type Approved for Electrical, Mechanical and Radiation Safety Standards
(vide IS: 7620) from the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB), Govt. of India, thus making
it entirely safe from the Radiation Hazards.

1.3.1 Description of Control Keys

CONTROL
PANEL
1. LINE VOLTAGE COMPENSATOR SWITCH

This is used to adjust the incoming power supply voltage. Using Fine Compensator,
small variations in input voltage to equipment can be adjusted in 12 steps of about 2.5
volts each. The Coarse Compensator switch is also provided at the backside of
control which is having 4 steps of about 25 volts each and is used to adjust large
variations in input voltage.

2. READY SWITCH

When Ready switch is pressed, it boosts X-Ray tube filament voltage from stand by
to operating value determined by the setting of the TECHNIC SELECTOR.

3. X-RAY SWITCH

When this switch is pressed, it starts radiographic exposure. It will terminate an

exposure, if it is released before timer ends the exposure automatically.

4. BUCKY IN & OUT SWITCH

For radiography, when Bucky is to be used, select BUCKY SWITCH to ‘IN’

position, otherwise it should be kept in ‘OUT’ position.

5. KVP SELECTOR SWITCH

This switch is used to select Radiographic and Fluoroscopic* KVP Voltage from 45
KVP to 100KVP in steps of 5 KVP each.

6. MACHINE ON SWITCH

This is Push to On type switch used to energize the equipment. The Line Indicator
glows when this switch is pressed.

7. MACHINE OFF SWITCH

This is Push to Off type switch used to de-energize the equipment. The LINE
Indicator will turn off when this switch is pressed.

8. RADIOGRAPHIC TIMER SWITCH

This is radiographic time selector switch. Radiographic time can be selected in 24

steps from 0.04 seconds to 8 seconds.

9. LINE INDICATOR

It glows when input supply to equipment is turned ON.

10. X-RAY INDICATOR

It glows during the X-Ray exposure.

11. OVER LOAD INDICATOR

It glows when the selected factors viz. KVP, mA or time exceeds the tube rating
chart.
NOTE: When the overload indicator glows, the X-Ray unit automatically
becomes inoperative.

12. TECHNIC SELECTOR SWITCH

This switch is used to select four Technic (Tube Currents)

F* : For Fluoroscopy
25mA :
50mA : For Radiography
100mA :

13. VOLTMETER

This voltmeter indicates input supply to equipment circuits. Red band is provided on
voltmeter at 230 V. Voltage compensator switch is adjusted until pointer on voltmeter
is at this red band.

14. RADIOGRAPHIC mA DISPLAY

Displays the mA selected from Technic selector switch during Radiographic Mode.

15. mAs DISPLAY

Displays value of mAs depending upon mA and time selected.

16. KVP DISPLAY

Displays KVP selected from KVP selector switch during Radio or Fluoro* mode.

17. mA METER

This meter indicates X-Ray tube current (mA) during exposure. The Needle deflects
during exposure & indicates tube current as per setting on technic selector switch.

System Overview

NOTE: For exposure less than 1.5 sec. duration, pointer may not get enough time to
travel upto the desired position e.g. for an exposure of 100mA, 0.10 sec, mA meter
pointer will not reach upto 100mA mark.

FLOURO mA CONTROL*

This is variable resistor fixed on side of control that allows continuous adjustment of the
fluoroscopic milli ampere up to maximum value of 3mA.

FOOT SWITCH*

This is used to initiate & terminate fluoroscopic exposures.

Exposure
HANDSWITCH
Ready

This is used to press Ready switch and X-Ray Start switch using retractable type cord.

FUSES FOR SAFETY

Fuse No. Function Rating Location
F1 Line fuse 25 Amps
F2 Filament Fuse 4 Amps On rear of Control Panel
F3 Timer Fuse (RAD) 2 Amps
F4 Light beam Diaphragm (Collimator) 4 Amps
*F5 Fluoroscopic Fuse 5 Amps. Inside the Control Unit

* Used in machines with Fluoroscopic option.

An MCB of suitable Rating is also provided for over current protection.

LBD ON/OFF SWITCH

This is Push to ON type switch. When it is pressed bulb gets ON and remains ON for 1
minute. After 1 minute bulb gets OFF automatically.
