Learning Reflections on El Amor Patrio/To The Young Women of Malolos/Brindis

1. In my own opinion, El Amor Patrio is a well-written literary piece of Rizal. It serves as a

reminded for us to give love and pay homage to our own country. As one of the Filipino
who have read this essay and was enlightened by it, I can say that it truly emulates sense of
nationalism and patriotism which is very evident in every facet of our lives. It basically serves
as our compass towards nationhood and patriotic love. El Amor Patrio encapsulates the
message of encouragement to Filipinos, that dedicating our time and effort to discover and
learn more about our motherland is something that we must painstakingly do. It reminds
and touch the lives especially of the youth to stand up and be the catalyst for change in their
homeland. This essay ignites and solidify our core value as a Filipino in a sense that we
should be a responsible citizen of this country and reverberate that Philippines is worthy of
love and protection.
2. To the Young Women of Malolos is a literary piece worth praising for it serves as an eye
opener for the inequalities and unjust treatment to Filipino women. This letter is a very well-
known piece of Rizal which was written to congratulate the empowered young women of
Malolos who have the courage in dreaming and wanting to have the same opportunity to
study and be educated. This letter highlights the pressing issue of women who doesn’t have
the same liberty to study as compared to men. Education is also a very essential right in
order to achieve self-actualization and improve their lives by enhancing their social status.
This piece instills us the importance of gender equality and giving importance to the
opportunity to study since it is the greatest equalizer of all.
3. Brindis is a speech delivered by Rizal in honor of the achievement of Juan Luna and Felix
Hidalgo. It is worth the recognition and praises since it is an artwork that conveys or portray
the injustices, social and racial discrimination that occurred during the Spanish Period which
was commended by Rizal since it is a work of art that encapsulates the true happenings
during that time. These craft of two artist pave way towards the empowerment of people
who are blinded before and neglecting the grievances and suffering of their fellow men. It
only shows us to open our eyes and be vigilant to the abuses perpetrated by the Spaniards,
and be the voice of those unheard and underprivileged.
