SUMMERY: -
During the rotational inspection on JULY-2022, The GAS COALESCER was drained, blinded, and
opened for inspection and testing. Internal Inspection, external visual Inspection and NDT were
conducted as per API standards, ARAMCO standards and company specifications. Details of the
inspection are as follows....

INTERNAL INSPECTION

PRELIMINARY VISUAL INSPECTION

➢ Noticed - Black colour hard flakes all deposit at shell internal 6 o’clock position (bottom
side)
➢ The condition of filters fully damage – total-16 numbers

RECOMMENDATIONS
➢ Cleaning inside the COALESCER shell side to be done for further detailed visual inspection
and NDT.
➢ Clean all the GASKET seating area of MANWAYS and NOZZLES and all the fasteners shall
be apply grease/molykote on nuts and bolts
➢ Replaced all the total sixteen numbers of filters, and install NEW as per standard
➢ Replace all manway nozzles gasket with new.

AFTER CLEANING VISUAL INSPECTION

➢ Equipment Flange face (Manhole) no noticeable observation
➢ Flange cover (Manhole) found cluster pitting at 6, o’clock position – 2 to 3 mm deep,
➢ SHELL internal at Bottom 6, o’clock position noticed Mesa corrosion – no metal losses
➢ Ultrasonic thickness measurement (UTT) Thickness measurement were performed no
noticeable metal loss – Thickness found acceptable – Ref - Report attached
➢ Liquid penetrant test (LPT)was performed from internal circumference weld seem,
Longitudinal weld seem (accessible) and internal at NOZZLE location – No noticeable
indication
➢ Total sixteen numbers of filters replaced, and install NEW as per standard
➢ External condition no noticeable observation
➢ All NOZZLE Flange face no noticeable observation

TESTS: -

NDT

➢ Ultrasonic thickness measurement test (UTT) was conducted for the shell and heads
(From outside only), and for all the nozzles (Accessible), manways, all the readings were
found the acceptable limits,
➢ Liquid penetrant test (LPT)was conducted the Longitudinal seams and circumferential
seams welds of shell and heads (only accessible area, and for nozzle welds (accessible)
and no defects found.
➢ All NDT tests were conducted as per API Standards, ARAMCO Standards and company
specifications.

HYDRO TEST
➢ N/A

ACTION COMPLETED

➢ Internal cleaning of the shell, heads, and all other appurtenances.

➢ Liquid penetrant test (LPT)for test Longitudinal seams and circumferential seams welds of
shell (accessible).
➢ Ultrasonic thickness measurement (UTT) for the shell and heads (form outside only), and
for all the nozzles, manways,
➢ All manways gasket replaced with new,
➢ All sixteen numbers of filters replaced, and installed NEW as per standard
➢ Equipment boxed up.
