2 Sampling (PPAR*)
I Introduction
In the SQMS, you generally sample the parts that you are to manufacture or supply. Parts from upstream suppliers are not included in the parts list (but
are included as an attachment).
If Daimler AG specifies a supplier for which Daimler AG assumes responsibility for sampling in accordance with the price agreement or directed parts
contract, you also have to sample this supplier's parts.
For more information on this, see Section 2.8.6 "Special Features of Directed Parts".
If you yourself are a supplier of directed parts for which Daimler AG assumes responsibility for sampling in accordance with the price agreement or
directed parts contract, please also read Section 2.8.6 "Special Features of Directed Parts".

To ensure an efficient supply of samples to Daimler AG, you first If you do not know who your QM contact is, read Section
have to agree upon the appropriate procedure with your QM contact. 1.3.7.2 "Searching for Contacts".
This can take placein SQMS or in the form of a standardized
sampling coordination discussion (SCD). Key issues include:
Deadlines for submitting the individual sampling types Agreement regarding the required attachment types.
(technical sampling and, if necessary, color/software
sampling). Agreement regarding the required scopes within the
attachment types.
Latest deadline by which a component must be sampled and
set to "green".

The sampling reasons in Release 4.1 have got specific, directing functions for the calculation of the new part change status in
the current PPAR.
You find an overview on the following page.
• To send a PPAR with the same Q/F-status to another Daimler plant, you have to copy that PPAR which originally
used this Q/F-status. Please use the copy function Q.
The sampling reason „further Daimler plant“ is no longer available.
• With the “report other samples “ the E-status is further freely selectable.
• For software the only possible sampling reason is “new part” with the Q001/F000-status.
• The new sampling reason „Complementary sampling” is the normally used for the respective sampling to a
technical sampling with the sampling reasons „New part“, „Production relocation“ or „additional production plant“.

Software sampling for this part number has not been completed yet.
A PPAR based on "{0}" reasons is invalid. The part number has not been approved in any production plant.
The sampling due to "additional production plant" reasons is invalid. This production plant has already started the production after having approved the part.
The part number is already being used in the sampling process {0}. Unless this sampling process has not been declared capable for sampling yet the part number
cannot be used within a new sampling process.
The highest part revision level of the part number has not yet been declared ready for sampling in the current production plant.
The sampling due to "additional production plant" reasons is invalid. This production plant has already started the production after having approved the part.
The part number must be sampled technically first. The remaining color variants are used in PPAR {0}. Please try to add this part to that PPAR or perform a subsequent
sampling for PPAR {0}.
The PPAR based on "{0}" reasons is invalid. The part number has not yet been produced and approved in this production plant.
The highest part revision level of the part number has not yet been declared ready for sampling in the current production plant.
Sampling reason "production relocation" is invalid. Part number has not yet been released for the former production plant.
The highest part revision level has not yet been declared ready for sampling in the former production plant.
The sampling due to "production relocation" reasons is invalid. The manufacturing of the part has been relocated already within another PPAR.
The PPAR due to "new part" reasons is invalid. Part number has already been approved in at least one other production plant.
