CLEARMAX ™ BOP
Jetting Wash Tool

Weatherford’s CLEARMAX BOP jetting wash tool belongs to

the CLEARMAX suite of wellbore cleaning tools and is a flow
diverting tool used to clear debris, such as cement and metal
cuttings, from the blowout preventer (BOP) cavities.

This tool ensures a clean and solids-free wellbore before well

completion by removing wellbore debris from the BOP cavities,
which could otherwise plug production tubing or prevent
production packers from setting.

Two sets of six radial flow ports on the tool divert fluid outward
and downward in alternating patterns, delivering a high volume of
fluid to wash debris from the BOP cavities. Usually three to five
passes are made hrough the BOP while rotating the string at a
slow rate (<30 rpm).

These jetting operations usually occur twice during the wellbore

cleanup. The first run is in drilling fluid to remove the large debris,
and the second is in a chemical cleaning spacer to remove any
residual drilling-fluid solids.

Applications
• BOP jetting runs

• Cleaning and dislodging debris from the BOP

straight (either end of raised section).
