Qn.1: Volumetric Analysis

BA1 is a solution containing 2 moles of sodium hydroxide in 1 liter of solution.

BA2 is a 2 M hydrochloric acid solution.

Each student should be provided with:

 50.00cm3 measuring cylinders (2)

 Plastic cups (2)
 250cm3 of BA1 in a beaker
 250cm3 of BA2 in a beaker
 Access to distilled water
 Thermometer (-10 to 100°C)

Qn.2: Qualitative Analysis

Substance H is prepared by mixing hydrated MgSO4 and Zinc Oxide, ZnO in the ratio of 1:1.

Each student should be provided with:

 3 spatula endful of H.
 Filter paper and filter funnel.
 Test tube rack.
 At least 5 test tubes.
 Heat source.
 Access to the following reagents:
o Distilled water.
o Lead (II) nitrate solution.
o Barium nitrate solution.
o Silver nitrate solution.
o Potassium iodide solution.
o Dilute nitric acid.
o Dilute sodium Hydroxide Solution.
o Aqueous ammonia solution.
o Red litmus and blue litmus paper.
o Acidified potassium dichromate solution.
