Goals-Using Broadcasting to Make Memories
1. As a freshman, I have many of my memories in video form. As a
result, I can always relive my fun experiences…I wanted my
residents to be able to have that too.
a. This pertains to the bringing value aspect of my definition
2. I also wanted to synthesize that goal with my love of broadcasting
3. In addition, I am in a dorm with many athletes and a lot of them
naturally love to compete from what I observed early on in the
semester
4. Although it is difficult to get people to engage, I wanted to make
these style of events my most attended
How it Changed Throughout the Semester
1. I originally wanted to do more than just one but times got
busy.
2. As a result, I am very content with the fact that I gave it my
all with the one event that I did in the month of September
3. Still to this day, this is one of the most attended events this
semester at my dorm
Reflections
1. I originally had people sign up online in order to create a bracket early;
however, barely anyone showed up who signed up. There were a good
number of people who showed up to compete without signing up. I lost
some time by having to create a new bracket.
2. Adding Buffalo Wild Wings and prizes also added value to the whole event
as well which increased our spectators.
3. With 27 views, it seems that the set of 14 competitors got to watch the
video
4. My Resident Director and his Boss also really enjoyed being able to see
the event in a fashion like this
Next Steps
1. Would be nice to do one more big event of this style next
semester if I have the flexibility with my schedule.
2. I find a lot of value in helping others to have positive
experiences that are analogous to ones that I had in the past
a. For example, it resonated with my spirit seeing teenagers at church get to
go to our teen service called the well and build friendships in the same
way that I did.
