Read the following passage do the task as follows .
Pollutants are clogged up the atmosphere above our planet and trapping the sun's heat. That
makes our planet warmer, which causes glaciers to melt, crazy weather patterns to develop, and
natural disasters spread like wildfires. But there are other consequences that people don't always
associate with climate change. One surprising fact about global warming is that it makes people

As the world gets hotter, tempers also get fierier. A new study found that violent crimes and even

war become more likely as temperatures rise. Heart rates tend to be elevated in warm weather, so
people are prepared for a physical response to a situation. That’s not to say we're headed for a

The glaciers of the Himalayas and the Andes could disappear in this century. As a result, the millions of
people in India, Bolivia and Peru who now depend on melting water from mountain glaciers could find
themselves in a critical situation. The ice sheet of Greenland is also melting more quickly than the scientists
predicted. Greenland’s largest outlet glacier, the Jakobshavn Ibra glacier, is moving toward the sea twice as

fast as it was in 1995. One cause could be meltwater that runs down to the bottom of the glacier and gets

between the ice and the rock below. This water makes it easier for the glacier to slide along to the ocean.

CI
Many ice researchers believe that Greenland’s melting, if it continues, will add at least three feet to global
sea levels by the year 2100. If the ice sheet of Antarctica, now largely unaffected, begins to melt, the next few

OF

Singapore’s role as a trade partner and signatory in the ASEAN region is well-documented. In fact, the very
first free trade agreement (FTA) made officially valid by Singapore in 1992 was the Common Effective
DẠ

Preferential Tariff (CEPT) scheme, that cut down on inter-ASEAN import duties and customs costs. This
agreement, known as the ASEAN Free Trade Agreement (AFTA), opened the door for companies set up in
Singapore to trade freely and conveniently with other ASEAN countries.
Since then, Singapore has entered into bilateral FTAs with key trade partners such as the U.S, Australia,
Japan, New Zealand and several other countries. These FTAs have, over the years, eased the market entry and
enabled significant market presence of products from signatory countries. The US-Singapore Free Trade

Trang 2/3- Tiếng Anh 11

Agreement (USSFTA) for instance has increased U.S services exports by more than 100 per cent within 10
years of its ratification.
As a core member of ASEAN, Singapore has also acted as a regional signatory to the establishment of 10
regional free trade areas, including ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand, ASEAN-China and ASEAN-lndia.
Singapore isn’t stopping there - it has signed two globally significant FTAs, namely the European Union-

Singapore Free Trade Agreement (EUSFTA) and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for
Trans¬pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

The EUSTFA is the first bilateral FTAthat the EU has signed with an ASEAN member nation, and once

barriers for European companies to trade in the ASEAN region. Meanwhile, the CPTPP will facilitate market

Singapore’s role as a trade partner and signatory: nước người ký kết in the ASEAN region is well-
documented. In fact, the very first free trade agreement (FTA) made officially valid by Singapore in 1992 was
the Common Effective Preferential Tariff (CEPT) scheme, that cut down on inter-ASEAN import duties and
customs costs. This agreement, known as the ASEAN Free Trade Agreement (AFTA), opened the door for
companies set up in Singapore to trade freely and conveniently with other ASEAN countries.

Climate change has affected wild animals and plants all over the world, but some species
are more endangered than others. Polar animals, whose icy habitat is melting in the

warmer temperatures, are particularly at risk. In fact, studies show that the Arctic sea ice is
melting faster than ever! Polar bears and seals need sea ice as places to raise their young,

Rising sea levels threaten the habitats of sea turtles, which depend on beaches to lay their

eggs are male or female. Unfortunately, rising temperatures mean that most turtles will be
born females, and this may lead to population decline.
Climate change does not only have an impact on wildlife, it’s affecting us, too. Farmers,
especially in developing countries, are the most affected. They are dealing with higher

temperatures, heavier rainfall, floods, and droughts. Environmental conditions can also
affect plant growth and crop quality. For example, in Kenya, because of climate change,
rainfall is becoming heavier and less predictable. Droughts are often followed by large

Climate change has affected wild animals and plants all over the world, but some species are more
endangered than others. Polar animals, whose icy habitat is melting in the warmer temperatures, are
particularly at risk. In fact, studies show that the Arctic sea ice is melting faster than ever! Polar bears and
seals need sea ice as places to raise their young, feed, or rest.

Rising sea levels threaten the habitats of sea turtles, which depend on beaches to lay their eggs. Many
people may not know that the temperature of nests determines whether the eggs are male or female.

Mã đề 101 Page 2/6

Unfortunately, rising temperatures mean that most turtles will be born females, and this may lead to
population decline.

IA
Climate change does not only have an impact on wildlife, it’s affecting us, too. Farmers, especially in
developing countries, are the most affected. They are dealing with higher temperatures, heavier rainfall,
floods, and droughts. Environmental conditions can also affect plant growth and crop quality. For
example, in Kenya, because of climate change, rainfall is becoming heavier and less predictable.

IC
Droughts are often followed by large amounts of rain, which makes growing tea, Kenya’s most important
crop, very difficult.
