POLICY STATEMENT:
I, Bianca Crause, hereby make myself eligible for the House Committee of Wanda
Ladies’ Residence for the term 2023/2024 with the portfolios First Year’s, Arts and
Publications.
Wanda is more than just a residence. During your time as a student, Wanda
provides you with a home when you are faced with the unknown as a first year.
During my time at Wanda, I have forged lifelong friendships and was provided with
new opportunities and experiences that I will cherish forever. My wish as prospective
First Years’ House Committee Member is to provide the first years with an
experience that reflects and surpasses my own. I feel that I have the necessary skills
and the determination to lead my residence to new depths and I will utilise my
strengths to ensure that Wanda continues to excel as it has done in the past. I
believe the future of Wanda lies in our hands and I know that I can provide the
necessary guidance to ensure that our residence keeps on growing.

Ek, Bianca Crause, stel my hiermee in aanmerking vir die Huiskomitee van Wanda

Portefulje en Publikasies.
Wanda is meer as net 'n koshuis. Gedurende jou tyd as student bied Wanda jou met
'n tuiste as eerstejaar wanneer die onbekende jou in die gesig staar. Gedurende my
tyd by Wanda het ek lewenslange vriendskappe gevorm en is voorsien van nuwe
geleenthede en ervarings wat ek vir altyd sal koester. My wens as voornemende
Eerstejaarshuiskomiteelid is om die eerstejaars 'n ervaring te bied wat my eie
weerspieël en oortref. Ek voel dat ek die nodige vaardighede en die vasberadenheid
het om my koshuis na nuwe dieptes te lei en ek sal my sterk punte aanwend om te

POLICY STATEMENT:
I, Charmari Steyn, am putting myself up for election for the House Committee of
Wanda Ladies Residence for the term of 2023/2024 with the portfolios of Sports.
Wanda reminds me of a crowd who all turn on their cell phone lights during a large
gathering at the stadium when there is loadshedding. It doesn't matter where any
Wandaliet is, they make a difference. They let their lights shine brightly and they bring
back life. I want to be part of developing each Wanda lady's full potential so that they
shine brightly for Wanda, but also themselves as an individual.
I consider myself a friendly, approachable, and positive person who always seeks
positive insights into circumstances/situations. I am hard-working and goal-oriented in
the tasks I undertake and am value-driven and steadfast in my faith. I believe that
everything one wants to achieve in life does not come by itself, so I work hard to
achieve my dreams and goals. I like to set milestones for myself and take on
challenges.
I believe that being a good leader is not who you are, but what you can offer to your
fellow Wanda ladies, therefore a good leader is not one who exhorts people
beforehand, but to develop the group so that they can move forward and reach their
full potential.
I have had the privilege of having excellent leaders as examples over the past few
years and now it is my responsibility to build on the foundation for the future of our
ladies' residence, Wanda...

BELEIDSVERKLARING:
Ek, Charmari Steyn stel myself verkiesbaar vir die Huis Komitee van Wanda
Dameskoshuis vir die termyn van 2023/2024 met die portefeuljes Sport.
Wanda laat my dink aan ‘n skare mense wat almal hulle selfoonliggies aanskakel
tydens ‘n groot byeenkoms by ‘n stadion terwyl daar beurtkrag is. Dit maak nie saak
waar Wandaliete is nie, hulle maak oral ‘n verskil. Hulle laat hul liggies helder skyn en
hulle bring weer lewe. Ek wil deel wees daarvan om elke Wanda dame se volle
potensiaal te laat ontwikkel sodat hulle liggies kan skyn vir Wanda, maar ook vir
elkeen as individu.
Ek beskou myself as ‘n vriendelike, toeganklike en positiewe persoon wat altyd
probeer om positiewe insigte te hê in verskillende omstandighede / situasies. Ek is
hardwerkend en doelgerig op take wat ek aanpak en is waarde-gedrewe en
standvastig in my geloof. Ek glo dat alles wat ‘n mens in die lewe wil bereik nie vanself
kom nie, daarom werk ek hard om my drome en doelwitte te bereik. Ek hou daarvan
om mylpale vir myself te stel en uitdagings aan te pak.
Ek glo om ‘n goeie leier te wees gaan nie oor wie jy is nie, maar wat jy kan bied vir jou
mede Wanda dames. Daarom is ‘n goeie leier nie een wat van vooraf mense aanpor
nie, maar iemand wat die groep ontwikkel sodat hulle vorentoe beweeg en hulle volle
potensiaal kan bereik.
Ek het die voorreg gehad om uitstekende leiers as voorbeeld die afgelope paar jare
te kon hê en nou is dit my verantwoordelikheid om op die fondasie voort te bou vir die
toekoms van ons dameskoshuis, Wanda...

Wanda is my pride.I have grown to love the values and traditions of Wanda and
everything it had to offer me from the moment I set foot in this place I call home.
Wanda has stirred personal growth in me. Wanda has allowed me to embrace my
creativity, integrity,self-confidence and social skills. My vision for the term is to work
flexibly with everyone and use my communication and networking skills to take
Wanda to greater heights.With the use of self-motivation and dedication I would like

As ek aan Wanda dink, dink ek aan 'n huis weg van die huis af. Wanda is my familie,
Wanda is my trots.Wanda het my spasie gegee om te groei.Ek het geleer om lief te
wees vir die waardes en tradisies vandat ek die eerste dag hier ingestap het.Vandag
noem ek Wanda my huis,want hier voel en is ek tuis.Wanda het my toegelaat om my
kreatiwiteit, integriteit, selfvertroue en sosiale vaardighede te ontdek. Met behulp van
selfmotivering en toewyding wil ek graag hê Wanda moet bekend staan as die plek

“I, Lireze Day, declare myself eligible for the House Committee of Wanda Ladies
Residence for the term of 2023/2024 with the portfolios Deputy-Primaria, First-years
and Sport.
My vision is for Wanda Ladies Residence to become a first-place residence.
As Deputy Primaria, I will work diligently and tirelessly to give every resident the
opportunity to excel. I will provide the structure and discipline needed for the driven
ladies of Wanda to achieve their goals and find their purpose within the residence.
As First Years HC, I will cultivate pride and respect for our residence, in our ladies
from the moment they set foot in Wanda. It is essential to instil these values in our
first years as they are the future of our residence. The new generation of valuable
ladies will inherit the love and pride I have for Wanda, ensuring the creation of a
sustainable and successful student life in Wanda.
As Sport HC, I will give the oppurtunity to each lady to try their hand at sport, guided
by renowned coaches. Through sport, a culture of unity, loyalty, discipline and
respect will be cultivated. Building on the foundation laid by those before me, I will
utilize the athletic abilities of our ladies and lead us to victory.
Through my term, I will lead by example and with a firm but nurturing hand. My
inability to settle for mediocrity sets me apart from the rest and allows me to set
Wanda apart from the rest aswell.

Dameskoshuis vir die termyn 2023/2024 met die portefeuljes Onder Primaria,
Eerstejaars en Sport.
My visie is dat Wanda Dameskoshuis, ‘n eerste- plek koshuis word.
As Onder Primaria, sal ek ywerig en onvermoeid werk om elke inwoner die
geleentheid te bied om uit te blink. Ek sal die struktuur en disipliene voorsien wat
nodig is vir die gedrewe Wanda dames om hulle doelwitte te bereik en hulle doel in
die koshuis te vind.
As Eerstejaars HK, sal ek trots en respek vir ons koshuis kweek in ons dames
vandat hulle Wanda intree. Dit is noodsaaklik om hierdie waardes in ons eerstejaars
in te boesem, weens hulle die toekoms van ons koshuis is. Die nuwe generasie van
duur dames, sal die liefde en trots wat ek vir Wanda het erf, wat die skepping van ‘n
volhoubare en suksesvolle studentelewe in Wanda waarborg.
As Sport HK, sal ek aan elke dame die geleentheid bied om sport ‘n probeer skoot te

me, a true blessing and a family. Leading with joy in my heart and faith as the light
unto my feet, with inspiration as my moral stand and love as a comfort hand. I am
determined to reveal the true value of the ladies in the house of Wanda, to lead by
example and serve them. My passion lies in making Wanda not only a residence that
houses ladies but also a place of family and lifelong bonds, a place where all are

POLICY STATEMENT:
I, Manise Hattingh, declare myself eligible for the House Committee of Wanda
Ladies Residence for the term of 2023/2024 with the portfolio of RAG. I want to
serve each and every lady who walks through the door and decides to make this
their home, to me they are Wanda. I want to bring joy to this residence by the way I
carry myself and the things I am passionate about, such as RAG. It is a platform that
gives you the opportunity to find your place to be good at something and accomplish
big things that are not associated with arts and culture or sports.
I decided to make Wanda my home because of my fellow residents who became my
friends, they inspire me every single day to be the best version of myself and all
together create a safe and wholesome space that feels like home. I want to help in
creating this same space for future generations of residents to keep Wanda
flourishing and growing in strength.
I want to inspire ladies to care about each other, because between all our differences
(like the patches on a giraffe) we don’t have to love each other to get along, or to
wish the best for one another but a mutual understanding and respect for one
another can bring us closer.

POLICY STATEMENT:
Wanda residence, named after the Vanda Orchid, seeks to foster an environment
where our young women bloom, like the many hues of the Vanda orchid, which has
strength and beauty in diversity. I, Nancy Nomvelo Mavimbela, make myself eligible
for the House Committee of Wanda Ladies Residence for the term 2023/2024 with
the portfolios Transformation and Diversity Officer, with Current Affairs Officer and
Academic Officer. My purpose is to cultivate a vibrant, inclusive and harmonious
environment where our love for our sisters leads to growth and success. I seek to
recognize and celebrate our rich diversity, along with the many backgrounds, beliefs,
and stories that each lady brings to our residence. Make every student feel like they
have a rightful place within Wanda, foster a culture where students understand,
support, and uplift each other through challenges and celebrations alike, encourage
students to broaden their horizons and dream big and have a deep sense of
belonging, with our unwavering support, and is empowered to pursue academic and
personal excellence in a space they can genuinely call HOME.

I, Thalia Nieuwoudt, hereby declare myself eligible as House Committee Member of
Wanda Ladies' Residence for the term 2023/2024 with the portfolio Recruitment.

My motto in life is "be kind". I am always keen for a spontaneous adventure and
aspire to be the person my dog thinks I am. I believe choosing to be compassionate
and vulnerable showcases great strength, especially in a world that is not always
kind. Above all I believe my life story has already been perfectly written by the same
Hands that created me.

I am positive and bubbly- chances are that you will hear me before you see me! I
adore people and I am a complete empath; I attempt to make everyone I meet feel
seen and understood. I am great at problem solving and always welcome new
challenges. I pride myself in being fair, reliable, passionate, authentic and hilarious.

Wanda has gifted me the privilege to create memories and build friendships that I will
cherish for the rest of my life. I have had the opportunity to grow, learn valuable
lessons and ultimately find my home here. I am incredibly proud to be a part of

My relationship with Wanda Ladies Residence can be compared to a flower, with
Wanda as its caretaker. I started off as a small seedling and within the walls of J14, I
have started to flourish into a strong, compassionate and independent flower. I, Zoé-
Lee Botma, declare myself eligible for the House Committee of Wanda Ladies
Residence for the term 2023/2024 with the portfolio SRCS . I continue to grow
everyday and within my own growth I would like to see Wanda flourish, through
harsh winters, warm summers, windy autumns and lively springtimes. Throughout
these seasons of change, I want Wanda to remain a home, where our family
continues to grow into a beautiful bouquet . A bouquet filled with diverse, yet unique
ladies giving their all to the children of Katlego’s daycare. I want Wanda to achieve
and celebrate our victories, stand together with our short-comings, but most of all,
