I. OBJECTIVE:
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
a. undertake physical activity and physical fitness assessment. (PE8PF-Ia-
h-23)
b. set goals for assessment results. (PE8PF-Ia-24)
Learning Across the curriculum:
1. Science - The objective of physical fitness assessment connects with the
science subject as it involves understanding the body's physiological
responses to physical activity and the importance of maintaining a
healthy lifestyle.
2. Health - The objective of performing appropriate first aid connects with
the health subject as it involves knowledge and skills in providing
immediate care for injuries and emergency situations.
3. Mathematics - The objective of setting goals for assessment results
connects with mathematics as it involves the use of measurement and
data analysis to track progress and set realistic goals for physical fitness
improvement.

III. PROCEDURE:
A. Preparatory Activity
1. Prayer
2. Setting in a classroom atmosphere
3. Checking of attendance

B. Developmental Activity
Engage:
1. Start with a brief discussion about why physical fitness is important for
overall health and well-being.
2. Share interesting fitness facts or success stories to pique students' interest.
3. Ask students to think about their current level of physical activity and any
fitness goals they may have.
Explore:
Activity 1. "Fitness Assessment Circuit"
Instruction:
1. Introduce the physical fitness components.
2. Divide the class into small groups.
3. Provide each group with different fitness assessment tools (e.g., stopwatches,
measuring tape).
4. Instruct students to perform fitness activities like measuring jump heights,
counting push-ups and plunks.
5. Have them record their assessment results and discuss their observations
within their groups.

Rubrics:
Criteria:
-Participation and engagement in the fitness assessment activities. (10 points)
-Accurate recording of assessment results. (20 points)
-Ability to interpret and discuss the meaning of the assessment data within
their groups. (20 points)

Assessment Questions:
1. Were there any areas where you felt particularly strong or in need of
improvement based on the assessment?
2. What did you learn about the importance of physical fitness through this
assessment experience?

Explain:
1. Lead a class discussion on identifying and describing the components of
Health-Related Fitness and Skill-Related Fitness.
2. Introduce the SMART goal-setting criteria (Specific, Measurable, Achievable,
Relevant, Time-bound) and discuss how they relate to setting fitness goals.

Elaborate:
1. Instruct each group to analyze their assessment results and set SMART
fitness goals collectively.
2. Encourage them to present their goals to the class.
3. Facilitate a peer feedback session to help refine the goals.

Evaluate:
1. Evaluate student’s assessment result during the Explore activities based on
the provided rubrics.

Assignment:
Please provide a picture of yourself engaging in a fitness activity while
performing household chores.
