"One of my father's friends, Mr. Shorsh, a 57- year-old man, visited

the pharmacy where I received training. He had a history of asthma
and had been using an inhaler to manage his asthma symptoms for
several years. He presented a prescription to us and mentioned that
he had taken this medication to relieve his arthritis pain last week.
However, he noticed that his asthmatic symptoms worsened while
using this medication, experiencing wheezing, shortness of breath,
and a feeling of tightness in his chest.
The pharmacist, Mr. Hardy, and I attempted to address this issue.
We advised Mr. Shorsh to discontinue the use of Voltaren because
Voltaren and other NSAIDs can exacerbate asthmatic symptoms,
leading to bronchospasm and nasal obstruction. We provided him
with the safer option of( acetaminophen 1000mg taken every 4 and 6
hr ) to manage his arthritis pain, as it carries a lower risk of
triggering asthma symptoms. Additionally, we recommended that
he consult with his physician to discuss the potential risks and
benefits of using Voltaren, especially in his case.
Aboutprescription ,I didn’t take photo but I remember
what was written on the prescription {voltaren _tablet _75mg taken
two times a day }

Aa"As I trained in pharmacy, I have learned several important points:

1. Ensuring Correct Drug Dispensing: I always strive to provide

patients with the correct medication when they bring in their
prescriptions. Instead of directly giving them the medication, I ask
them about the purpose of the medication and the condition it is being
used for. This helps me ensure that patients are aware of their disease
and the medication they are taking. After dispensing the medication, I
take the time to educate them on how to use it correctly, including the
frequency and any specific instructions. Additionally, I make sure to
inform them about potential side effects and contraindications. If I am
uncertain about any information, I conduct thorough research or
consult reliable sources to ensure that I provide accurate information.

2. Learning from Others: As an undergraduate student in pharmacy, I

understand the importance of being a good listener and focusing on
the knowledge and experience of other pharmacists and healthcare
providers. When patients describe their problems at the pharmacy, I
actively listen and seek to learn from more experienced pharmacists.

3. Performing Clinical Tasks: In the pharmacy, I frequently perform

tasks such as injections, cannulation, and measuring vital signs like
blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and oxygen saturation. These tasks
are especially important when working with elderly patients.

I am continually working to improve my skills and knowledge in the

field of pharmacy."
