Intro : And my name is clement

How we get yhe idea : We get the idea of warka water last year. Last year we went on a
trip in africa. We traveled all over africa we discover a lots of beautiful landscapes. And
one day on a camel expedition in the Namib Desert we discovered a very strange little
insect and we were very curious to know more about it. The guide who accompanied us
tell us it’s a stenocara bettle. And it’s therefore insect which was our inspiration.

Plans : So we will tell you all you have to know about warkawater in 3 parts.
1. First : How do we have used biomimicry to create warkawater ?
2. Then : How warkawater works ?
3. And finally : What is it for ? and other exemples of the use of stenocara beetle
inspired thecnology.

Part 2 : Now I will tell us how warkawater work. So warkawater, as dylan sayed, imitate
stenocara beetle, so to imitate the back of the beetle, we constructed several layers on a
glass side. The first layers is a polymer surface which makes the surface porous and
attracked the water like the stenocara beetle bumps. A polymer is a large of molecules
made up of several smaller molecules. Then we welded the layer with silica nano
particules and then coated the blade with a fluorinated chemical, making it water
repellent or hydrophobic which has the effect of guiding water like the stenocara beetle
canals. And there is a final layers composed of water attracting acid molecules to
recover the water. The all layers assemblate are more efficient to keep water than the
stenocara beetle.

Conclusion : So to conclued I would say that thanks to biomimicry and this wonderful
little insect we have been able to help many people and probably even save lives. We can
then ask ourselves at what scale is biomimicry present and useful to our society ?
