I. Learning Competencies
At the end of this module, the students must be able to:
 Understand the cycling of some important elements or substances such as water.

Objectives:
At the end of the 60-minute discussion, at least 75% of the students should be
able to:
A. Define water cycle;
B. Perform an experiment showing the different processes of water cycle; and
C. Appreciate the importance of water in our daily lives.

Materials: Laptop, television, pictures, cartolina, chart, flaglets, chalkboard, chalk,

electric kettle, beaker, rubberband, plastic wrapper and ice.
Science Processes: Observing, Identifying, Evaluating
Values Integration: Admire the essentials of water in our daily living.
Time Allotment: 1 hour
GAD Core Concept: Equal Opportunity for everyone.

III.Learning Procedure:
Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity
A. Pre-developmental Activity
1. Prayer
Before anything else, let us first
stand and start our class with a
prayer. Prayer
2. Greetings
Good morning class! Good morning Ma’am!
Before taking your seats, please
arrange your chairs and pick up the
pieces of paper under your chair.
3. Checking of attendance
Who is absent today? None Ma’am.
That’s great! Before we start our
new lesson, let’s have a short recall
to our lesson yesterday.
4. Review
What was our topic yesterday ? Our topic yesterday is all about oxygen-
carbon dioxide cycle Ma’am.
Very good!
How do you differentiate oxygen and
carbon-dioxide? The oxygen is the gas that plants produce
while carbon dioxide is the gas that human
produces.
Very good! How does oxygen- carbon
dioxide cycle works? The tree will produce oxygen and the
human will use that through respiration.
While the human will produce carbon
dioxide that the plants need for making its
own food.
Very well said! It seems that you’ve
already understood our topic yesterday.

5. Motivation
Let’s play!
The game is called ”4 Pics, 1Word”.
I will divide the class into six. Each
group will choose their
representative who will be holding a
flaglet.I will present pictures and
you will going to identify what is
being described in the pictures. The
group who raised first their flaglet
will be the one to answer. At the
end, the group who got the highest
score will be given a reward later.
Did you understand the mechanics
of our game? Yes Ma’am.
Very good!

What did these four pictures

describe?
Water Ma’am
Very good!

How about this one?

Vapor Ma’am.
Great job!
How about this one? Moisture Ma’am.
Nice!

How about this one? Rain Ma’am.

Right!

Last, what did these four pictures

describe? Cycle Ma’am.
Very good!

B. Developmental Activity
Based on the words that you have
arranged in our game, what do you
think is our lesson for today? Water cycle Ma’am.
Very good!
The teacher will present a video clip.
Let’s watch the video that I prepared then
afterwards let’s analyze it.
Based on the video presentation, what can
you say about water cycle? Water cycle is the circulation of water.
How many processes are there in water
cycle? There are three processes of water cycle.
Very well said!
(Show a picture of Evaporation)

What is the first one? Evaporation.

Very nice!
What is evaporation? It is a process wherein the sun heats up
the water from oceans, lakes and rivers
and water changes into water vapor.
Do you know that the process of
transpiration is occurring during
evaporation? Yes Ma’am.
What is transpiration? Transpiration is occurring when plants lose
water in the form of water vapor from
their leaves into the air.
That’s right!
(Show a picture of Condensation)

What comes next after evaporation? Condensation.

Excellent!
What happens during the process of
condensation? As the water vapor uses up into the air, it
starts cooling down and forms tiny water
droplets come together to form clouds.
A big check!
(Show a picture of precipitation)

After the water vapor forms clouds, what

comes next? The process of precipitation.
What happens during the process of
precipitation? When the clouds start getting heavy and
cannot hold the water droplets anymore,
they fall back to the Earth in the form of
rain, hail or snow.
What form of precipitation do you observe
here in our country? Rain.
Very good!
When it is raining, do you think all the rain
goes directly to the ocean? Yes/No.
Why do you say so? Some precipitation falls to mountain,
lakes, rivers and others.
What do you call that process? Collection.
Very nice!
And the remaining water will go back to
the ocean, rivers or lake and goes back to
the cycle again.
To understand more about water cycle, we
will have an experiment. Entitled: Make it
Rain”.
(The teacher will call one student to read
the procedure). (After reading the procedure, the students
will perform the experiment).
What do you observe class? There’s a moist forming on the clear
plastic wrapper.
Excellent! Good observation!
What else? The hot water on the container changes
from liquid to gas. And that is what we call
evaporation.
When the water vapor in the atmosphere
is changed into liquid state it is called
condensation. So the “moist” that is
formed in the plastic wrap is the process
of condensation.
The moist that was formed on the plastic
wrap is changed into larger drops of
water.
What did you notice after few minutes? It looks like it rained Ma’am.
Right!
That is what we call precipitation, this
occurs when water vapor in the
atmosphere condenses into clouds and
falls to the Earth.
Do you think water is an important
element in our daily life? Yes Ma’am.
Why do you say so? (Students will give their varied answers).

GAD Concept:
Do you agree that everyone has the right
to access with clean water? Yes Ma’am!
Why did you say so? Because we deserve to utilize and manage
the beauty of nature for our benefit.

C. Post developmental Activity

1. Application
The teacher will group the class into six. A worksheet on constructing water cycle
will be given into each group. And using cartolina and pentel pen, the students
will enumerate at least 5 ways on how to conserve water. After 10 minutes, one
representative of each group will go in front to present their output.

2. Generalization
What is water cycle?
What are the three major processes of water cycle?
Why do we need to appreciate the importance of water in our daily lives?

IV. Evaluation
A. Read the following. Choose from the box and write the letter of the correct
answer on the blank before each number.

a. Water cycle
b. Precipitation
c. Evaporation
d. Water
e. Condensation
____1. It is a process by which water vapor in the air is changed into liquid water.

____2. It is the circulation of water.

____3. It is an important element in our daily life.

____4. Because of the heat of the sun, the liquid state of water turns into water vapor.

____5. When the clouds start getting heavy and cannot hold the water droplets
anymore, they fall back to the Erath on the form of rain, hail or snow.

B. Explain. (5 points)

Why do we need to appreciate the importance of water in our daily life?

V. Assignment

1. Do we drink water from dinosaur days? Justify your answer and put it on a ½ sheet
of paper.

2. Study the Nitrogen Cycle.
