c.) demonstrate understanding of the Sun as the main source of heat and light
on earth
II. Subject Matter

C. Materials: Visual Aid, Picture

III. Methodologies

Teacher’s Activity Students’ Activity

A. Review Procedure
1. Prayer
Let us stand. ___________, please (One of the students will pray)
lead the prayer.

2. Checking of Attendance
You may now take your seats. (Yes Sir, everyone saying present)
Now I’m going to check your
attendance. Say present whenever I
mentioned your names.

Ok Good! No one is absent today.

Keep it up.

3. Checking of Assignment

Now before I proceed to the (Students will pass their assignments)

discussion of the new lesson. Please
pass your assignments in front.

4. Review of Previous Lesson

Learning Task No. 1: “This is how
I do it”

Good morning, class! Good morning, sir!

Before we begin a new lesson for Our lesson yesterday was about shadows in
today, let’s review first what we the surroundings as the position of the sun
have learned in our previous lesson. changes.
Does anyone remember what our
lesson was yesterday?

Very good, __________!

Keep in mind that when we are outside

on a sunny day, we can see how our
shadows change throughout the day.
The Sun’s position in the sky affects
the length of the shadow. When the
Sun is low on the horizon, the shadows
are long. When the Sun is high in the
sky, the shadows are much shorter.

B. Motivation
Learning Task No.1 Letter
Struggle.
Instruction: Listed below are
jumbled letters. You are tasked to
rearrange the jumbled letters in
order to form a word.

(Students doing the activity)

1.LCYCE
2.ERAWT
3.UNS

Okay students, now have you Yes Sir!!!

rearrange the jumbled letters
correctly?

Now tell me, what words have you (Children raise their hands)
formed from the given jumbled
letters?
(Cycle, Water and Sun)
Yes _________.
Yes Sir!!!
Very Good, you got it right. Did you
get the same answers class?
C. Presentation

(Students raise their hands)

There are clouds, tree , the sun.

What do you see in the picture?

Yes ________.

It says water cycle Sir.

Very good, now what is it all about?

Yes _________

That’s right ,and we already tackled this topic

last time but it is also connected to our topic
today.
(Students raise their hands)
D. Discussion of the New Concept

Based from the earlier activity and

picture, what do you think is our It’s about water cycle Sir.
lesson all about?

Yes _______. (The class silenced)

Close enough, but not the exact

answer! For todays lesson I’m going
to discuss the topic about The role of
the sun in Water Cycle. (The whole class:
Okay Sir
First I have here a visual aid for the
unfamiliar words that will be
encountered along our discussion. I
want you to write it in your
notebook. I’ll be checking your
notebooks after you finished
copying.

Vocabulary items:

1. Water Cycle- is a biogeochemical

cycle that describes the continuous
movement of water on, above and
below the surface of the Earth
2. Precipitation- is water released from
clouds in the form of rain, freezing
rain, sleet, snow, or hail.
3. Condensation- is the process by
which water vapor in the air is
changed into liquid water.
4. Evaporation- is the process by which
water changes from a liquid to a gas
or vapor.
5. Transpiration- is the evaporation of
water through minute pores, or
stomata, in the leaves of plants.
6. Percolation- is the movement of water
through the soil itself.
7. Sun - The sun is what makes the
water cycle work. The sun provides
what almost everything on Earth
needs to go energy, or heat. Heat
causes liquid and frozen water to
evaporate into water vapor gas, which
rises high in the sky to form clouds...
clouds that move over the globe and (Students stood up and passed their
drop rain and snow. notebooks)
Okay, now pass you notebooks here in front
and after I check you notebooks, we will
proceed to the discussion of our lesson.

E. Discussion and Discovering the New

Skills

The sun provides what almost everything on

Earth needs to go energy, or heat. Heat
causes liquid and frozen water to evaporate
into water vapor gas, which rises high in the
sky to form clouds.. clouds that move over
the globe and drop rain and snow. This
process is a large part of the water cycle

Just like in a vehicle, the engine represents

the sun, the vehicle won’t start without the
engine, just like the water cycle. Also the sun
doesn’t just gives heat but it also gives us
light and it is also the responsible for giving
(Students bringing out their
us energy. materials in making concept map)

F. Formative Assessment

Now that we have tackled the lesson, make a

concept map regarding to your understanding
about the topic “Roles of Sun In the Water
Cycle”. This will serve as your assessment (Students starts doing the activity)
for this lesson.

G. Application to Real Life Situation

Learning Task No.2 Sum Up!!!

In your own words, explain what is water cycle
and how the sun is important in water cycle, what
its roles and what does we gain from water cycle.
Write it in 3-5 sentences.
(Students reciting)
H. Generalization

Now for the next activity, we will be having an

oral recitation regarding to the lesson I discussed.
This will serve as a graded recitation and will be
part of your performance.

(Calling students one at a time)

I. Evaluation

Learning Task No.3 Guess Who Am I.

Direction: Identify which object or process of
the water cycle is being referred in every
number.

1.) I am the one who’s responsible in making Okay Sir!!!

the water cycle work. Who Am I?
2.) I may also be called as rain, hail and
snow. Who Am I?
3.) I turn liquid into gas. WhoaAm I?
4.) I turn gas into liquid. Who Am I?
5.) I am the movement of water through the
soil itself. Who Am I?

Now pass your activity, I’ll be returning your

activities once I done checking.
J. Assignment

For your assignment , draw an Illustration that

shows the importance of sun and provide a short (Goodbye Sir, Goodbye classmates,
essay that will support your illustration. Goodbye!!!)

That’s all for today class, I hope you enjoyed

throughout our discussion.

Let’s pray before I dismiss the class.

(Teacher will lead the prayer)
