The purpose of the report is to provide all the relevant information and engineering assumptions involved in
the Design of Franklin County Corrections Centre Structure by using RAM STRUCTURAL and RAM
CONCEPT.This report covers the detailed procedure of Franklin County Corrections Centre Structure

4.0 ENGINEERING ASSUMPTIONS

4.1 Modeling of Precast Inslutated wall panel

While modelling the Precast shear walls in Ram structures, the length of the wall is considered as 16' as
two individual wallpanels of 8' will be connected through connections to act as a single wall of 16' length.

To capture the actual stiffness of the precast panels, only the thicknesses of the concrete portions of the

walls is modelled (5" + 3" = 8") neglecting the insulation portion.

3 To capture the actual stiffnesses of the concrete elements, all the elements are assumed to be cracked
under the application of loads and corresponding cracked stiffnesses are used in the design calculations.

The composite action between concrete and metal sheet is assmed to have achieved an efficiency of 75%.
