communication
“Interpersonal” is most frequently defined as something “between people.” In
this case, it’s communication but it’s more than mere “talk.”
Interpersonal communication is the process of exchange of information, ideas
and feelings between two or more people through verbal or non-verbal methods. It
often includes face-to-face exchange of information, in a form of voice, facial
expressions, body language and gestures. It also refers to the entire process and
practice of exchanging ideas, information, and even emotional experiences that can
be shared between people.

When communication occurs, it typically happens in one of three ways: verbal,

THREE INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION

STRATEGIES
1. Verbal Communication- is the use of

Examples: Advising others regarding an

appropriate course of action. Giving credit to
others.
2. Non-verbal communication is the
transfer of information through the use of
body language including eye contact,
facial expressions, gestures and more. For
example, smiling when you meet someone
conveys friendliness, acceptance and
openness.

4. Visual Communication- is the

practice of graphically representing
information to efficiently, effectively
create meaning.
