ANSWERS

1. Quality issue: The factory has a problem with the trunk seals, especially in the Honda Civic.
The grip within the trunk seal is the main source of this problem. A manufacturing defect is
causing the grip that needs to grasp the body to mold to the other side. Because of this lack of
retention, the rubber trunk seal is not aligned with the trunk frame at all.

2. Implications due to the issue:

1. The workers must recheck every vehicle and repeat the entire procedure.

2. There will be an effect on the manufacturing schedules.

3. A higher total cost for the supplier as well as the business.

3. Possible causes:

1. The machinery used to produce trunk seals may have a problem; it may be overheated.

2. The rubber may be melting more than it should since the materials used to produce the seals
were most likely of inferior grade.

3. A possible problem with the mold that the trunk seals were made from.

4. It's possible that the supplier overlooked a batch during the quality inspection.
4. Precautions to be taken to prevent these kinds of issues:

1. Verify that the vendor or suppliers you choose adhere to the same standards of quality as your
company.

2. Improving and transparently drafting supplier contracts to make sure that the company won't
pay extra because of these kinds of issues.

3. Consistent contact with the suppliers to guarantee that the goods we get meet the necessary
quality standards.

4. Enhanced quality control.

5. Inking agreements with a network of approved suppliers.
