Document Development Exposi on: White Paper

Explain in detail your document’s development from planning to nish, describing your
challenges, how you overcame them, and what you learned.

Planning
The rst thing I did for my white paper was research in depth about various lily species that are being
a ected nega vely by climate change. I found that the water lily in South America, or Nymphaea, and
glacier lily in North America, have been a ected by rising global temperatures, and discovered the
rela onship between the hummingbird and the glacier lily. I looked into other climate change e ects
on lilies, which led me to nd out about how these were related to what was happening with the
water lily’s late blooming pa erns in spring.

First Dra (for peer edi ng)

A er peer review, the rst change I made was add the page number next to the visual aids sec on
under table of contents make it easier for the audience to navigate to the visual aids. Next, I focused
on shortening and xing sentences in the execu ve summary. My next edits were also the same but
for the next sec on of the paper a er the summary. For the rest of the paper, a lot of my edits were
also general.

Second Dra (for your packet)

My second dra had the same edits as before, mainly gramma cal, conciseness, and breaking up
sec ons to make the informa on more accessible.
