INTRODUCTION

Agriculture in India is a major economic sector & it is the

backbone of the Indian economy. It creates plenty of
employment opportunities as well. The RAWE [Rural
Agricultural Work Experience] programme is conducted in the
7th semester of 4th year.

The main aim of the programme is to acquaint the students with

the villagers & the farming situation so that they can have
practical knowledge about agriculture.

In this programme all students are divided into different groups

& are assigned to carry out different activities under the
guidance of the supervisors.

Various exercises in this programme are aimed to develop the

knowledge of the students & revise all the courses that were
taught for the last three years.

I think the most important achievement of the RAWE

programme is that it has generated interest in the minds of the
students to do something about the real problems & difficulties
faced by the farmers.

OBSERVATION OF THE VILLAGE DURING SURVEY

1) Infrastructure

● Mostly the houses were semi-cemented and adobe (kacha ghar)

● Electricity facility was moderate.

● The only source of clean water was mostly the hand pump which was
situated as it could be used by three houses which was near to it.

2) Economic Condition
● According to my observation, the main source of income of the people in this
village was farming. Some of them were having a subsidiary source of income
which was in the form of laboring.

● No presence of local industries was near to this village as of which the

employment rate was very less.

● And also majorly one person in the family goes for the work and gets the income
rest look after the family and do small farming activities
3) Education
● Only two schools can be observed in the village that was also till fifth standard.
Rest of the students was supposed to move towards the city which was approx. 17
kms away from this village.

● The literacy rate was above 50% & some of them want to pursue higher
education but couldn’t due to poor connectivity between the city.

● The main reason for the education latency is of the economy condition of the
people live there

4) Healthcare

● During this survey I observed that the healthcare facility was poor as
only one hospital & one medical shop was present.
● there was no hospital even for a emergency people have to a long
distance
● and there was no proper sanitation around the place and no medical
center.

5) Agriculture & Food Safety

● As the Kharif Season is been going on so the main crops were been
grown here was Paddy, Pearl Millet, Finger Millet, Sorghum
● Poultry was been observed as the second biggest source of food for
this village.

6) Environment

● The environment of this village is filled with greenery, fresh air was
also observed as there was no industry situated near to it..
● Clean water was available for the villagers in the form of hand pump
& ponds which was clean comparatively to the cities.
● both the sides filled with the farm and wealth of the village with rich
water source
7) TECHNOLOGY
● As the employment rate was above 50% in this village, the people were quite
aware of the major stuff related to technology.

● The connectivity of the phone call as well as the data was moderate as there
were only a few service towers situated.

● majority people work for the daily wages in the village who goes to the city for
the work

8) CHALLENGES & CONCERNS

● People are unaware of the government. schemes which are beneficial for them.

● There are no disciplinary actions taken against any sort of issues.

● The minority are not treated as equal to that of the other caste or creed.

● majorly they are not been educated and foremost they are unable to ask for their
right to live and all the concerns which are given by the Government

● main issue is that the people never been exposed with outsiders government
should be concerned of this and government activist and the panchayat should take
responsibilities .

9. RECOMMENDATION
● There should be a proper awareness between the people for the govt. schemes &
the Gram Pradhan should take the responsibility for the same.

● responsible leaders should be elected in here

● As it has been observed that most of the youth are willing to study further but
cannot due to unavailability of proper schools.

● Connectivity between the city & the village should be improved.

● Installation of more hand pumps should take place.

● Govt./Private Hospitals should be made on the priority basis.

● proper education and knowledge of the government schemes
